A warm welcome awaits at Newell Restaurant & Rooms; I already knew how excellent the food is because my sister planned and hosted, with Tracey's help, a dinner party there, but I needed an overnight stay to surprise her at another event. My room was spacious, scrupulously clean and, given the location on the A30, miraculously quiet. There is a special tea/coffee closet in the hall that's available 24/7, with a fridge containing fresh milk, biscuits, etc. You must stay for breakfast, in the delightful dining room, not only because it's freshly cooked and delicious, which it is, but also because the toast is unbelievably good. We did not eat at the restaurant.the hotel check in was easy, the service we received very good. The room itself was quite small but has everything you would expect. The bed though was uncomfortable hence the average rating as for the price paid I would hope for a better nights sleep. Everything else though good, you have tea and coffee facilities in a kitchen on the same floor, the shower was excellent and the TV fine.||The reality is if they stuck a premier inn bed in one of the rooms I would have scored this 4...
