Not bad at all. Steak cooked to perfection (medium rare for me). Britannia Bad Boy burger was fantastic (demolished by our son). Lovely service, no complaints at all. Thank you very much for a the great food and drink. 😉👍

Had lunch today and was so impressed, as it is the best Roast Beef Lunch I have had in years. As a retired chef I am not overly fussed about fancy and expensive food, and this was just perfet, and as near the best possible as it could be, and felt like eating a beautiful home cooked meal. I asked for the beef to be pink free (I know, but it is my choice) and the two huge slices were perfect, moist and delicious. The vegetables were really well cooked with just the right bite, whilst the garlic and rosemary Roasties (3 large ones) were crisp and delicious. A huge Yorkshire pud accompanied the meal and the delicious gravy came in a large boat, with the horseradish just the right side of eye-watering! The staff are lovely, and really on the ball, efficient, friendly and fast. My only quibble is that whilst my 'bought-in' cheesecake was fine and tasty, my friend's also bought-in Lemon Meringue Pie was far from it. I tasted it and frankly it was prety dire. To be fair, after we spoke to the young lady who served us, they deducted the price, and I hope they might look into making their own puds, as that would obviously be to the same high standard as the mains, and round off a really lovely experience next time. Prices are absolutely fine and I look foward to more tasty meals at this...

Nice old pub. Hospitality breakfast advertised both on website and in folder in room. When we arrived and asked about breakfast this was not the case. We were told they no longer offer breakfast. One member of staff told us we would not have got breakfast at the price we had paid. On looking in the folder in our room there was a laminated sheet of paper advertising a hospitality breakfast. When I politely took this up with a friendly member of the team he kindly said he would look into this for us. We were then informed that because they were still advertising breakfast they would supply us with cereals, milk, tea, coffee, yogurts and fruit in the morning.

Thank you to the lovely gentlemen who was happy to go out of his way to resolve the issue we had.

Room was clean and tidy.

Noise levels from bar below room not guest friendly. Doors banging and intermittent noisey talking in corridor until early hours of the morning.

Unfortunately would avoid staying here again and because of the issues we encountered we would not be able recommend. Which is a shame as there is so...

It was a perfect location, and the staff were friendly. The room and bathroom were clean, except for under the bed - there were various items of rubbish including a dirty tissue and some lip balm or similar. I liked the duvet, but could feel all the springs in the mattress. I had to ask twice for the Wifi code, which apparently should have been in a folder that wasn't in my room. The bathroom was described as private, but I had incorrectly expected an en-suite not a room that led off from the corridor - it could probably be made into one in time. Maybe I missed this in the description. I was allowed to leave my bag for a few hours after checking out, but I would have liked it to be in a staff area not in the public breakfast room (behind the bar would have been fine). I'm surprised the owners didn't want to provide a feedback form, so I wouldn't need to give negative public...
