Old Ash Tree — Restaurant in England

From start to finish we had a terrible visit. We looked online before to check there was vegan options available and checked while making the booking. On arrival we found out there was only one vegan starter and no vegan mains. My friend asked about this and was told there was none. They did later say they could do her vegan food off of the main menu.

I ordered my drink and got given the wrong one. We then waited an hour for the food to come. And the vegan option came around 5 minutes after all of the other food was served.

During eating my dinner I found a hair. When asked how the food was I notified the server. She brought over the manager who said I could have a refund, a free drink or a free dessert. She said she could take the food away and make me another one. But having been in the pub for well over an hour i declined. She said when I was finished to come up to the bar and notify the server of my refund. When I did this the manager came over and said as I ate some of the food she was not willing to give me the refund I had previously been offered. She ended up giving me £3.40 back.

Also my friend had no potatoes with her meal (which the menu stated came with her roast) so had to ask for them to be brought up. And when she asked for more gravy on her dry meal they told her it would cost her extra. Overall terrible service and mediocre food...

Went today with family for a roast for Father’s Day, this was our first time going under new management.. On arrival we got given a table that was seated on a level when I had booked needing wheelchair access, although this was easily resolved, then it went more downhill from here… although we made 3 separate payments it was all on the same table and made one after the over but two peoples food came out 40 mins after ordering only two other table occupied at this time then 25 MINUTES LATER the next 2 meals came out then 10 MINUTES LATER the last 3 meals came out, (which by at this point the first two people had already finished). When asking repeatedly about the other meals we were waiting for we were told we’ll have to wait and had no apology or understanding of our wait! The meals itself were warm not hot, one cauliflower was black and mouldy, roast potatoes were missing from two plates, once finished we asked for our desserts that we had paid for at start to come out after we finished meal to be told 2x over 20 minutes we’ll have to wait a while as there focusing bringing main meals out, so with that we decided to get our money back and go elsewhere for desserts which we received a far better attitude and service, safe to say we won’t be coming back anytime soon for a meal...

Unpleasant! I arrived and was greeted buy a parking machine where you have to pay to use there car park. I then went to the bar the atmosphere wasn't all that great it was more a sports bar not a place for a pub lunch. I was waiting a good 15 minutes to be severed and it wasn't that busy. I got the meal deal 2 courses for £15.99 I ordered the beef roast and biscoff cheesecake. It came out pretty quickly to my surprise. The quality of the meal was shockingly bad for the price paid. The potatoes are from a packet, along with the vegetables, I managed to eat it as I was hungry. I then had to go back to the bar to ask for my dessert and paid another £4 for a small coke! The cheese cake came and was the worst dessert I have ever been given. It was covered in cheap strawberry sauce, The ice cream was all icey and wrong like it had been defrosted and frozen several times. The cheese cake must have been defrosted in the microwave because my first bite was warm then my second cold then a few more bites in was warm again, I couldn't finish it! I never feel the need to leave bad reviews but I think all in all with two small cokes I paid £24 and it's a total rip off. You definitely deserve better for your hard earned money...
