After hearing many good reviews and driving past on a daily basis husband and I decided to try this establishment for lunch and to be perfectly honest thought it was overpriced for what we had ordered. I’ll start with the good points which are quite short and what would be expected in any eatery the place itself is clean tidy and modern and staff are welcoming and friendly thats where it stops! Bad points We ordered starters of onion rings and Turkish sausage which was nice (but nothing special or anything to really write home about), for our mains we both ordered chicken kebab with side salad and rice (that’s what was described on the menu), when we recieved the main course it was basically precooked chicken breast pieces (that you can buy from your local supermarket in the chilled isle) they had put it on the grill so it was lightly warmed through and served it with enormous amount of lettuce a slice of tomato (this is what’s is classed as side salad) and some boil in a bag rice! It was flavourless, bland and quality was basic to be fair. They only had either mayo or ketchup as condiments which is not what I call a selection.We were very disappointed as it sounds much more on the menu than what it really is. We paid nearly £40 with soft drinks for this and think it’s way overpriced for what we recieved (could have gone to Nandos and got a much better tasty meal cheaper). This is more of a cafe than anything else that’s only worth visiting if you want a drink and light snack. I wouldn’t recommend this place for anything else...

I was excited to try Gillingham Galata Diner And Cocktail Bar, as I had heard good things about it. However, I was very disappointed with the menu. It was full of cheap, low-quality options, which is not what I was expecting from a Turkish restaurant. There were a few Turkish dishes on the menu, but they were all very simple and basic.

I was also disappointed that the menu did not include any traditional Turkish dishes. I was hoping to try something like kebabs, pide, or baklava, but none of these dishes were available.

I decided to leave before ordering anything. I was not interested in paying a low price for a burger or a plate of chips. I would much rather support a restaurant that serves authentic Turkish food.

I would not recommend Gillingham Galata Diner And Cocktail Bar to anyone who is looking for a traditional Turkish dining experience. The menu is disappointing and inappropriate for a Turkish restaurant.

The menu options clearly showed that this was a budget and low-quality establishment. The dishes were all very simple and basic, and there was nothing on the menu that would make me want to come back.

I was particularly disappointed to see that one of the starters was ham egg and chips, which is not a Turkish dish at all. This made me question the authenticity of the rest of the menu.

I would much rather support a restaurant that serves authentic Turkish food and takes pride in its cuisine. I would not recommend Gillingham Galata Diner And Cocktail...

This is my number one goto place for a quick and easy meal anytime.

First of all, I cannot praise Rob, the owner, high enough. He's such a fantastic host, extremely friendly, highly tentative and nothing is absolutely too much trouble. All the staff here are so lovely and if you want something different from the menu and customise your order, just ask! I've never had a no! A lady was asking for oat milk once and despite this is not normally available, Rob just happened to have this available and walaa! They are great like this!

Secondly, this is a CASUAL diner with a mixture of American and Turkish. So don't expect an A La Carte authentic dishes please people. I mean the restaurant name kinda give it away! The food is always good, really really quick service! The price is also very competitive. The only reason I gave 4 stars for the food is simply because of the variety. The menu is your standard diner menu. I personally would love to see something different but this is merely my personal choice. Rob knows I wanted to see tempura on the menu 😂

Lastly, all of the staff here are the most honest hosts I've ever come acrossed so I fully trusted them and I don't even check my bills. Honestly it's really like a friendly next door pub owners who know you for years.
