I was at Rowlands with my workmates. Loved it the atmosphere. The food was delicious. I was a bit disappointed that there was no apple pie or apple crumble, but plum crumble did the trick. It was delicious. The salamon with broccoli was perfect. Other than the food, the bartender was friendly and polite, all the staff was friendly. The bistro it self is a bit outdated. Could do with a little paint and upgrading.

Staff are very friendly, they accommodated a large group of us for a christmas dinner. I quite enjoyed the satay chicken starter. The mains I opted for Mediterranean chicken but found it very dry so probably will avoid that one. The pudding was absolutely scrumptious! I loved the chewy meringue it was gorgeous. Cocktails were quite nice too.

10 of us went here for a family dinner, they reserved us a huge table, the staff were really attentive and the food was delicious. We have a few people who can be picky over the type of food they eat and even they had a great meal. 100% recommend this place as a safe bet to go

This is a very local restaurant to me, I was excited to try as it always looks busy. (Spoiler alert: I really don't understand why it's busy. The food is bad.)

Disappointed was an understatement. I have given this restaurant two chances.

1st time - the food was piping hot, too hot, like nuked in the microwave piping hot. Sloppy lasagne.

2nd time - I had chicken husband had a burger. The fries were swimming in oil and the burger tasted old. The chicken was dry. I wasn't happy.

The staff, though, were friendly.

I wanted to complain to management but my husband was mortified at the idea. I am a believer that they can't get better if they're not told.

Rowland's Bistro, you need to get better. I'm sorry but you do. By the decor I can tell you're proud of your restaurant but the food needs work.

Then menu is too big to be fresh or well done. It needs to be cut back massively and what you do offer needs to be done well.

Owner/manager: try your food, please I implore you. Try what is being served up... it's not good.

I really want a fabulous restaurant that I'm proud to take visiting family to, yours is just...

March 2023 revisit. Similar group of 9.

What's changed? Not much, mostly in a good way. Food still very good and if anything portions too big PLUS cheaper at £20 per head 👍👍👍👍👍 Service; several of the accompanying veg/salad choices were mixed up but the staff were very friendly and the food came from the kitchen very promptly 👍👍👍👍 Atmosphere still very cosy and other dinners. I still feel the decide is tired but other diners were pleasant and enjoying the place too - on a Tuesday 👍👍👍👍 We enjoyed and would happily go again May 2022 Enjoyable group night out. 12 freemason buddies and our annual end of season supper evening. Good portions, nice food, surprisingly reasonable price per head on the set menu. £23 average, starter, main, sweet and coffee. You won't see that many places. Drinks extra of course but about pub prices so no shocks. Just not 5 stars as I feel the decor is a little tired but that's a personal thought. Service very good and friendly. Proprietor was engaging and very...

Well what a disappointment! The past two visits the food has been BAD... I mean really Bad. I had to ask for a steak knife to cut my roast beef the other week which I didn't end up eating because it was so dry and tuff. The service was just as bad as the food, they were busy and unable to effectively manage the bookings they made and so the food and service was compromised. Two of the waitresses seemed to have an attitude problem and ignored some of our diners. Out of a party of 10 I think only four of us enjoyed our meals. One meal was sent back and swapped for another which wasn't cooked to standard either. I've been here four times and only one of the visits was nice. service is usually good but the food leaves a lot to be desired. Definitely over rated.

I had a nice time but that was only because we was with friends. nothing about the most recent trip was good at all. The ladies visited the w/c with their coats on because it was so cold back there.

AVOID UNTIL...
