Shocking place never been less satisfied with customer service and food in my whole life!! First of I work in customer service my self so no the customers arnt always right and never would moan unless completely nessicary but this would be one of those times! Went in and ordered a carvery , had the manager show us to our table he was rude from the of and basically shouted at us to tell us we had to go up to order (was taken back by his rudeness as this was not even a issue) good came out pretty quick but looked horrible with burnt potatoes (reminder me of the potatoes you get in primary school 😂) and not to mention a brought a adult meal and only had 3 of them ! Decided not to get a desert as didn't want to spend another penny in there , then as though this wasn't enough as soon as my 3 year old child got up the manager felt the need to come over and shout at us in front of the other customers that he was being loud and to keep it down! He only just got up and I had told him to sit down 😂😂 I ended up telling the manager his attitude was rude and he told me I wasn't allowed to return ! Well good I would rather not spend my money in that place ever again; if I could give you zero stars I would but...
Read moreDiscover this pub properly after going into a harvesters seeing the had shot up their prices and walked straight out. Half the price and better food I dont think I been back to harvesters since.
Have now been in the Old Plough for food maybe 2 dozen times in the past 18 months and every time the food had been quick, hot and very generous size and cheep price. Decided today to go for the large all day brunch for a little over £5. For that I got 4 sausages, 4 rashers of bacon, 2 fried eggs, a LARGE flat mushroom, fried bread, a good amount of chips and beans.
My sister was happy just with a soup today at £2.
Every stake I have had has been lovely and the sirloin :) and they do a full mixed grill for £7.35 and includes a lot of meat!!!. There lunch club during the week is also great where you get a started and small mains or small mains and pud for around £5. Stuffed for a fiver means its not worth cooking.
The staff are always lovely (bar 1 person a few months back who I haven't seen since and wasn't unpleasant just looked a little down)
I would and do...
Read moreMy first visit at the plough. Warm and cosy as you walk in. The pub obviously has a loyal customer base (customers seem to know each other and the names of the staff). Big menu with lots of options. I ordered one of the beef burgers which came with bacon and bbq sauce. The beef itself was juicy, I don't think the bbq sauce works with the burger but that's just my personal opinion (and I don't really like bbq sauce anyway). The chips were good- chunky and crispy. For dessert I ordered an apple & pear crumble which was smashing! Probably one of the best pub desserts I've ever had. The plough is inexpensive, staff are brilliant, food is delicious. Definitely will return and I recommend this pub to anyone who is thinking of...
