I wasn't going to leave a bad review but after telling people of our experience last weekend(2nd). Everyone was outraged.
I booked on the 27th of July with Gabbi. For the function room. This was for my sons 1st birthday meal. Family and friends coming from far away for this. Back and forth emails there was NO mention of another party in there.
I get there last weekend. At 12pm so I could set up a few balloons to my suprise when I mentioned it. That's its booked for a Christmas party.
When telling the lady(Monika). I had booked it months ago she was very very rude. Said that she has a Christmas party booked in and nothing she could do about it and took us to a table.
I specifically booked this function room because my son has Autism. He needs space to run around. My 1 year old needed space to crawl about and my other friends and family to socialise and spread about.
I told her time and time again I have emails to PROVE I booked the function room and she was having none of it. Not interested at all. Fuming. Absolutely fuming.
In the end she made a 'table' for us....but she blocked the fire exit and stuffed us in like a pack of sardines. We were all cramped. Everyone was uncomfortable and made the experience really really unenjoyable. I'm really disappointed.
Me,my kids and my mum always came here at least 2 times a month after soft play. Thought it was so amazing that we would book my sons meal here. What a joke. Not even a sorry. Even though we also moved recently so even further from where we lived before we still kept the booking because we was really looking forward too it.
Well I can tell you now you have lost 20 customers because we will never be stepping foot in your pub again.
My son was so overwhelmed it took all night to settle him down again.
I've even EMAILED my compliant...have they replied?? Haha nope. But yet when I booked the function room they emailed me back with in an hour! Absolute...
Read moreMyself, my daughter (11), my friend and her son (3) decided to have some dinner here after coming out of the wacky warehouse soft play. When we ordered food we were advised it would be up to a 30 minute wait which was fine - we assumed there might be a delay as opposite our table in the corner area there was a large family celebration going on. I had the mini mixed grill, my friend had scampi, chips and mushy peas, her son has the small child size fish fingers, beans and mash, my daughter had a medium carvery. Food only actually took 20 minutes to arrive which was nice however, apart from my daughter, no-one fully enjoyed our meals. The food was barely warm, chips were like cardboard, peas were cold, the mash was dry and a weird colour and the worst was on the last few chunks of chicken my friend thankfully noticed they were pink and not cooked properly. We mentioned our issues to our server and she was so apologetic and offered us all a free dessert each which was a lovely gesture. I had the chocolate fudge cake, my friend the sticky toffee pudding, her son had the childs chocolate brownie and my daughter had the chocolate mania. All of us thoroughly enjoyed the desserts. The atmosphere was a little overwhelming due to children that were with the family celebrating, they were screaming and running round tables playing tag which was highly loud and distracting. The best part of our visit was the customer service we received from Gabby (at the bar), the guy serving meat at the carvery (didnt catch his name) and Kayleigh who was our server, they were all so friendly, helpful and went above and beyond to try and rectify the problems we had. Unfortunately due to our overall experience we would probably avoid...
Read moreAbsolutely discusting venue! I used the ladies toilet on arrival and they were filthy, poo left in toilets, paper all over the floor, they stank, the doors are dirty and covered in brown marks all over as you come in & leave! Felt like I needed to re wash my hands after touching those doors to exit. Our table was dirty too, loads of sticky water marks and red stains, I had to use the spray to wipe it down myself! Unfortunately I couldnt wipe down the bench seats, which was covered in old food and stained with spilt drinks with holes ripped in the seats! We ordered our drinks which were 3/4 full, I am not sure why they do this as it isn't the first time it has happened ... The Carvery was tasteless, beef was probably the best part, red cabbage and sprouts were hard, tastless carrots, frozen roast potatoes, (they whacked abit of gravy over them and presentes them as beef dripping lol) dry sausages with a measley peice of burnt bacon clinging on for dear life, cauliflower cheese was yellow, chewy and I am not entirely sure where the cheese was? Stuffin was squishy, but edible. Gravy was OK, bit watery. I had cranberry and apple sauce, tasted tangy but didnt seem to be watered down.
My parter had the steak fondue as he doesnt like the carvery, I now see why ...
He finished his whole meal as it was edible, but the board it was served on was gross. So many previous knife marks, these boards harbour bacteria and there was a subtle stench of fish coming from the board.
After our experience today, we will not be returning ever again.
Thank you...
