Terrible...... customer service totally shocking, young lad who'd forgot to bring out our puddings eventually brought them out slammed them on the table didn't apologise that we'd sat for nearly an hour without them. Then my cousin was sold vegetarian ice cream for one of her children who has a terrible allergy to anything dairy 10 minutes later after she'd paid, they suddenly realised that they didn't have any so were told to choose something else, they did however for the inconvenience they had to put more money to it after telling the young boy he could have ice cream. When my cousin asked to check the allergy book at the till the substitute that they chose instead of the ice cream (fruit pureé) wasn't in there she asked the till person if they could shed any light on it she was told NO!. They then had no choice but to cancel all 4 of their puddings as they didn't want to sit eating theirs without their son enjoying some. When I asked where our puddings were I also mentioned that staff should know if things are out of stock. They should or at least someone on the shift e.g manager should be clued up on ingredients,.allergy information and most of all customer service should be known by all staff the young man looked hungover and to put it politely like he could not be arsed. Not the right attitude to have. Customers are the reason they have jobs. Food was mediocre nothing fancy ping food (microwaved) I'd say chicken was very processed, veg was super crunchy, califlower was just raw, mash=(smash) ok if you like that sort of thing 🤷♀️. Will go back if they have customer service courses and reinvent...
Read morePaige is worth her wait in gold !Lovely , clean and tidy seating and play area. Great food and service at kids party. Birthday boy made a fuss of by Paige. And felt really special. Just a shame that as promised on phone the week previous. The refund was not given to my sister for the 5 or 6 she cancelled . As she'd followed the instructions. Having given a week notice before by phone. Then been told to just clarify on the day when we arrive. Were advised she would be refunded at the end of party when we clarified. To then be told she wouldn't be getting it after all. This is very frustrating as all instructions were followed. Leaving my sister £50 or £60 out of pocket. But she also was NOT given the extra party bags or food. Which she was CHARGED for. I also work in hospitality so am fully aware of deposits and refunds. As all guide lines were followed and over a week notice . The full refund should of been refunded. Hopefully this will be rectified as we love the waccy and come often. Also that's why she booked the party here. But apart from that Paige made this a amazing day for my nephew hopefully the manager will check her records and realized that my sister full complied with the following of instruction for a refund. Was also told that if she'd of only paid a deposit it would of been given. But because she was organised and paid upfront . For peace of mind ! That was why it wasn't been refunded. This unfortunately left my sister feeling upset. And to be fair is of putting for future bookings as we have 8 children between 1 -7 so lots of kids party's...
Read moreHaven't been to the Owl & The Pussycat for a good few years. So long, in fact that it's now changed and is under the 'Greene King' franchise.
The place itself has been given a refresh with nice decor helping it look much brighter than it used to be. The staff were friendly and helpful albeit all very young and running around like headless chickens, but this can be forgiven with it being the school holidays and very busy.
We were told 25 minutes wait for food but it actually turned out to be more like 15 minutes, which was a welcomed surprise.
The food is average but that's okay as I knew this was a budget pub/restaurant chain. Although average it's still very tasty and enjoyable.
In terms of pricing I was very surprised at how cheap it was. Again, I knew it was a cheaper chain to eat at but we fed a family of 2 adults and 2 kids with drinks for less than £26. Very reasonable.
There's a huge play area adjoining the main building called the 'Wacky Warehouse' where for a few quid you can let your kids go crazy whilst you enjoy your brew and have a natter. We didn't use the play area this time but have in the past and on poking my head through the door as I walked past it, the play area seemed as good as it always was with lots of kids having fun on the equipment there.
Overall if you're looking for a cheap place to grab a quick bite to eat without it costing the earth then then is a great place to consider. Okay food, pleasant staff, things for the kids to do and very reasonable prices make for a cheap and...
