Went today for my third visit. It was the Sunday menu. They said there was a 45 min wait for food, which was expected as it was really busy. Food actually seemed to come out pretty quick. Not sure if it was 45 mins but it didnāt feel like it was. Food was good. There is room for small improvements but thatās not a negative necessarily.
My only qualm, and this maybe is just personal to me, was while waiting I could hear a member of staff serving but the language used was quite colourful. It wasnāt offensive but maybe out of place where other customers could hear it. I think they were very familiar with each other and possibly didnāt even realise. Maybe itās worth remembering you are working and stay 100% in professional mode. Ordinarily this wouldnāt bother me, but there were kids in the vicinity.
That being said there was a great atmosphere throughout the whole visit. Bar staff were friendly, apologetic for the wait (not an issue as it was busy, so understandable) Waiting on staff checked in with us to make sure we were happy with our food.
Halloumi and honey dip is divine
Cauliflower cheese was really nice ā¦.and I canāt stand cauliflower
Gravy was delicious
All in all...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter a disappointing first trip to the bar where the landlady ignored me and served someone else first I ordered some food for our party of 6. After an hour I asked where it was, lots of excuses and some time later we were informed that there was no chicken left for the salad. It took them over an hour to find this out? So, the money for this meal was returned. It was later served with inedible bacon which my father left. My eggs where like rubber, the very sweet barmaid/ server defended the chef saying lots of eggs where being cooked at the time and you cant get it perfect every time!!!! as if it's acceptable to have bad food sometimesš¤·āāļø She carried on saying they are short staffed and cant always get it right. This evening was a complete disaster from the rude landlady to the inept bar staff to the absolute s#$t food. The bar girl being sent to us to try to appease our frustrations. I did tell her that it's not her fault and the landlady should take responsibility to calm dissatisfied customers rather than giving that responsibility to her staff. Never will I set foot in the peacock again, not that it will be open for much longer if it carries...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI will preface this review with the fact that I hate to send food back and have eaten many a thing out of politeness and I don't write bad reviews just because I like to moan; Awful food. My burger originally came without cheese so I pointed it out, so they literally put a piece of cold cheese on top. Then I noticed my bacon was cold so I told them and they put a new peice of bacon on and gave me back my, then very cold dinner. At this point I gave up. My husband also had cold gravy and a corn dog that was worryingly cold in the center. On top of all this they left me waiting at the bar with my plate of food, nobody asked me if I needed help. It was only by coincidence the chef came out to get himself a drink that I was dealt with. No one apologised, and my plate of uneaten food wasn't remarked upon by the staff at the end of the meal. Don't bother if...
