TRYING THE HIGHEST RATED CHINESE RESTAURANT IN TEESSIDE!🤩 Peking garden Stockton #fyp #fypシ #foryoupage #kylevfood #foodreview

The food was unbelievable! You are only allowed to order 1 of everything each time you order. For example, we ordered our starters first (was 3 of us) and we wanted to order 2 portions of sea weed, we were unable to do this so our second Seaweed had to be ordered with our mains. It is completely unlimited and order as you go (ITS NOT A HELP YOURSELF BUFFET), which works really well , and food is always hot. Not really much parking around the area is behind a Lidl, but you're unable to park in there. We parked up some back ally. It was crazy busy and we went on a Thursday 5pm. We called to see if we needed to get a table, and they said they are pretty much fully booked, but there is some space at X times. The only downside is the way the staff rush you is next level. Never have I ever had the waitress or waiter come over asking if we are ready so many times. It made us feel like we had to rush to order constantly - I understand they were busy BUT don't let further people in without telling them they would need to be out be a certain time (for example) 3 of us attended, and we also got 2 Cokes, 1 lemonade + 1 pint of beer, and the total came to £90. Overall, I would 100% return as the good was gorgeous and very tasty! Just next time I would tell them, we will call you when we are ready to order. Under 5's eat free Sunday till Thursday - £24.99 Friday till Saturday - £26.99 (from what I can remember, I forgot to take a photo of the pricing) As always, my reviews are genuine, honest, and fair. Thankyou

We booked a table here on Saturday evening for a party of ten. When we arrived, we had to climb three floors of stairs which wasn't ideal for one of our members, who was 83 years old with a lung condition of COPD. Most of the staff were about 16 years old; we all felt rushed from the minute we ordered and ate. The food was lovely but came out at different times and on little plates. What was bad was that my stepmother almost choked to death on a slice of onion. It got stuck in her throat, and the young staff were helpless. We had a lovely gentleman from the next room come to the rescue and help us get the onion unstuck from her throat by performing the Heimlich manoeuvre. This was traumatic for all of us to witness, and the restaurant could not come to our assistance as they didn't have any first aid training. Thankfully everything with my stepmother was ok, but we couldn't go back to eating our main courses after experiencing that situation, and we were charged a £180 bill. Almost £30 a person! Whilst it wasn't the restaurant's fault that she choked on the onion, they didn't respond in the right way, and it could have easily been a fatal situation. It seemed they were only really bothered about the bill being paid. None of us will be going back here - it was a horrendous experience.

We went to order from Peking Garden for delivery and it was a cash only service on delivery, I guess that was the major red flag I ignored, as almost always when a Chinese is cash only then it's almost always bad.

We ordered a Honk Kong Style Sweet & Sour Chicken with egg fried rice, which is without doubt the worst version of this dish that I've ever encountered. The chicken was really gummy and the sauce was horrible (almost like a watered down pineapple sauce). It was inedible and I couldn't even bring myself to have more than 3 or 4 mouthfuls.

We also had a Vegetarian Cashew Nut sauce dish with boiled rice. It was lacking sauce and this just felt like eating vegetables and rice, which is not what you want when you're indulging yourself in a Chinese. Worst of all we found a black hair in it and none of us have black hair so it was a bit off-putting to say the least.

When the order confirmation came through it said it had come through from "Peking Garden Express" - which is a different restaurant in town, separate from the one I was led to believe I was ordering from but presumably owned by the same people. If you check the one named "Peking Garden Express" it takes you to the very same site. Just be warned if you fancy trying a different Chinese and see all the great reviews, just know it's not actually for the restaurant but for a separate one.

Horrible food. Wouldn't recommend...
