I’ve been here multiple times in the past with family and the food and service has always been great. I visited again with family recently and the food was good but one of the staff spoilt the entire experience with his rude and disrespectful attitude.
We’ve never had an issue with any of the staff before who we always found to be helpful. But one staff member in particular on this occasion was extremely rude and his behaviour was disgraceful.
We came in a large group of 35 or so people. After eating, I went to pay and had asked the person serving if he could offer me a discount due to the large bill (about £260). The staff member who was next to him decided to comment in a rude and passive aggressive tone that lots of customers means lots of dishing and so he couldn’t give a discount. His tone and attitude was unacceptable but I let it pass and paid the full bill happily.
Thereafter, once we had eaten, we left the shop. Outside we were cutting a cake and one of our family members decided to throw cake which got on to my hands and face. Anyhow, I went back into the shop to wash my hands and face in the toilet. At this, the same staff member who had been disrespectful earlier said, “You can’t go into to the toilet like that’, again in a rude and belittling manner. I asked why and said that I was simply going to wash my hands, but he refused. His attitude and disrespectful tone made me extremely angry and I swore at him, and told him to come from behind the counter and speak to me like a man. I wish I had controlled my anger and been the bigger man, but my anger got the better of me unfortunately.
I think the restaurant needs to give this man training as to how to treat and speak...

Peri Peri Original on Legrave Road offers a delicious and satisfying taste of peri peri cuisine. Their dishes are flavorful, well-prepared, and perfect for spice lovers looking for that fiery kick. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is casual — ideal for a quick bite or a laid-back meal.
However, I can't help but feel disappointed from a broader perspective. While the food is undeniably good, it’s frustrating to see such establishments support multinational corporations like Pepsi and Pepsi Max, which have been linked to unethical practices and support for genocidal regimes.
There are healthier, more ethical local alternatives like Salaam Kola or Kinza Cola that they could easily switch to, but they choose the easier option instead.
Supporting these giants not only compromises our values but also undermines local businesses and ethical choices. It’s a missed opportunity for Peri Peri Original to stand for something more than just good food — they could be champions of ethical consumption.
In summary, enjoy the spicy flavors, but let’s hope they reconsider their corporate partnerships and support local, responsible brands...
Read moreHave been a regular customer for nearly 10years however the management has changed tried once the food wasnt great as before tried a coiple of times after and no improvement. The fried chicken are not as good as before. They are dry and old. The staff have changed probably why the food is not as good as the standard set by the previous owners. Will change my local take aways from now. Prefer free delivery from other take aways then to go there and collect my food that its not good anymore. Only the sauces have not changed.
REPLY TO THE OWNER: I have been coming to this place a long time. After your refublishment, the staff has changed. So maybe the owners are the same but staff are not. I dont eat inn , I take away so only saw when I sat on my table that the fried chicken was dry and the coating was not as soft as before so it has been in the frier for too long.. This happened twice now. Not the 1st review to say this so do take that into consideration. Its a constructive critisim, as a buisness you should take it in a good way and give the best service you can by improving. Also the price has increase and dont give a drink anymore for family meal....
