Wanted to take my wife somewhere fancy when we got to Shoeburyness (her B-day). When I googled it there wasn't many places that offered a great atmosphere to dine in. When I saw the photos of this place I thought it looked nice and the reviews were good. However, actually being there, the photos don't do it enough justice. I very audibly said as I walked in, "Oh, it's more posh in person." Beautiful bee-themed atmosphere. (Bee aware of bee puns.) My wife loved the design elements. A ring of sunflowers, rustic message board, bee-themed buntings. I thought I stepped into an episode of the Great British Bake off and half expected Paul Hollywood to come out. The bakers, sorry, I mean the staff were a better treat than any Paul Hollywood. They were incredibly polite, kind and patient. We had a little teapot (short and stout)... A large plate of a jacket potato loaded with cheese, beans and salad and what was described as three small pancakes - small? They were big! With big plump blueberries on top. I was on a diet but I cleaned my plate out of respect - and everyone else's (Ahem!) This is the ONLY place to eat in Shoeburyness. Will definitely...

Lovely visit to queen bees with my friend and our two prams. Was worried about space but it was not busy and you could work it even if busy. Two ladies in there were lovely and everything was made fresh. Even apologised as they needed to use the mixer and didn't want to wake the babies but told them not to worry! Would definitely return! Also I liked the music that was playing!

Only criticism I have is there was nowhere to change my baby but the toilet is tiny so not sure how they could physically...

My mum and I went for the most beautiful Christmas afternoon tea, and what a treat we had. We had a choice of 2 fillings each in our sandwiches (so very special to have all fillings that we actually love). The scones were beautifully fresh, homemade, and so special being warm. The cakes were all homemade and just wowser - my favourite was the chocolate Terry's Orange cake, but the fruit cake was a very close second. Wonderfully friendly, warm, and attentive service. For us, the Tearoom was...

Thank you so much Queen Bee’s Tea Room for making my Nans birthday so special for her today. The attention to detail was amazing. With the banner and the happy birthday decoration on the table 💕. With bringing her out a slice of cake at the end and singing to her. She had such a lovely time and was so grateful & she absolutely loved her pancakes 🥞!! 💕🍰🥂 xxx

What a delightful experience! Kind-warmhearted owner and helper, a very traditional menu and traditional vibe. If you’re a Barbara Pym fan, you’ll feel right at home here. We had cake and tea after walking over from Southend. I also never realized what an interesting and historic place Shoeburyness is.
