Parking at the back for customers and a good place to see, hear and smell the kitchen in full swing as orders are being prepared. Nice welcome and shown to your seats with the offer of having your jackets taken by staff. Unsual to some, but completely sensible to me, the menu starts with drinks and then towards the back has the food. Now when the first thing you are asked if you want is a drink it makes perfect sense to make sure the customer has browsed that choice already so top marks for user experience there! A vast selection of food and all very delicious, be careful though if you don't have a sweet tooth, the creamy dishes are very creamy and sweet so if that's not your thing then stick to the more traditional curry dishes with a tomato and onion base. Although there is a chilli guide my advice as someone who loves chilli is to minus one chilli rating to get the true hotness, my dish said 3 chillies but tasted like only 1, again I'm a chilli lover so my idea of 1 is probably your 2 so that's why I say go down only the one. Service was great, most other diners were pleasant except this strange woman and her two late twenties or mid thirty year old sons who had a habit of staring around at everyone and making comments. Clean, big modern venue, nice surroundings and about £30 a head for starter, main and drinks. Very good and would reccomend to anyone living in or visiting Bedford.

My family and I attended Radhuni Indian restaurant yesterday evening for dinner. Sadly our expectations were not met and we were left rather underwhelmed by the experience. The starters we ordered were small to say the least. I ordered the scallop and calamari starter which comprised of to small scallops and 2 very small calamari rings. To pay £9 for a starter which was minimal to say the least, was in our opinion rather expensive. Although the service was polite, we found it quite intrusive as plates were being removed from our table whilst we were still eating. A word of warning when on arrival you will find a selection of chutneys on your table which the staff fail to inform you that you will be charged for. The only saving grace to a disappointing dining experience was the main courses of prawn and lamb Biriyani which were cooked perfectly and the Chicken Korma which my son and mother enjoyed. Sadly the evening ended on rather a disappointing note as when my sons dessert was brought to the table my wife noticed it had mold on it. Although the waitress apologised and took the dessert away there was no response from the owner or any attempt made to reduce the bill in any way as a gesture of good will.

4 of us visited Radhuni on the eve of May 21st ‘22 & we were not disappointed 😃 Wonderful Indian food; long and interesting menu with plenty of choices from various different areas of India. Everyone enjoyed! Unlike a lot of Indian restaurants I’ve visited, where everything seems to end up in a generic orange sauce; the flavours were complex & the ingredients & colours varied. My dish was a beautiful green! The Rezada was amazing. Delicious vegetable side dishes; good quality meats and fish. Huge bottles of Kingfisher beer to wash it down (& a cheeky Rosé). We shared a kulfi for dessert (all being too stuffed for one each) & were treated to a complimentary Baileys to finish. The waiters were charming; especially Ash 😊 & the location was lovely. High ceilings and loads of room. I believe the historic building was a riverside tearoom years ago (I grew up in Bedford). Reincarnated as a high quality Indian restaurant it is a place I’d have no hesitation in returning to on my next visit to Bedford. Thank you very much Radhuni!

I took my family (5 persons) to this restaurant for a pleasant quality time out. At first, things were alright, food was good and we were having a good time until one of the staff memebers decided to flip things around. We had finished our main courses and were waiting for our desserts when the staff came and asked us to go and wait in the lounge to have our desserts as he wanted our table for another customer in 20 minutes! We had no option but to cancel our dessert orders and leave as we felt disrespected. The manager’s excuse is that we had no booking!! Once a restaurant accepts you as a guest and seats you down, you would expect no difference from another customer who just happened to have called an hour earlier! Adding insult to injury, the restaurant wasn’t even full!!! That is the manager’s responsibility to find seating for his guests and to make everyone feel welcomed. I wouldn’t recommend going to this restaurant, poor management and amateur staff. Bedford deserves better.

18/2/2019 Replying to your message. I did not disrespect or shame anyone, on the contrary I commended the waiter who took our order and served us and if you actually read my post you would have found that I said we had a good time until your staff member disrespected us. My problem is asking a guest to leave when we actually were waiting for our order. If you are really the owner as you say, you should actually take my criticism constructively and make sure such incident does not happen. I swear and promise that the restaurant wasn’t busy when your staff member asked us to leave to the waiting area to have our dessert or coffee. If anything I would assume discrimination as there were only 3-4 occupied tables. What is the matter if we stayed nearly two hours, we had a generous order, we waited nearly over 30 minutes out of those “2 hours” for our orders to be served and we were a family enjoying our time and were nearly finished and waiting for our dessert when a member of staff decided to disrespect us. If your response is zero tolerance to isults, I say you are falsy accusing a customer to escape your managerial incompetence,...

We returned to Radhuni restaurant on the Embankment in Bedford on Tuesday 29th September, after having what we would say was a poor experience. But after speaking to the management thereafter we were asked to come back as they apologised and expressed they believe in always delivering a top quality service and first rate food. They offered us as a gesture of goodwill only to discount the overall bill when we returned. Well I can honestly say they were good to their word. The service was excellent and the food which we chose was truly 1st class. I enjoyed poppadoms with chutneys to start, then straight into mains. A well cooked Chicken tikka karahi and my partner had two different starter portions as a main with salad. A Lamb Chops Special starter plus the Tandorri chicken. Both were well presented with the fluffy mushroom rice and a Saag Aloo. We had drinks and we very pleased with the food. Only one criticism was they never had bottled small 330ml cobra but draught (which was flat) but after the meal they made this up by offering a complimentary drinking the house. A lovely gesture, then when it came to the payment of the bill they had looked after us by discounting the whole bill by 50%. Something that I never expected and was very pleased that true to their word they definitely looked after us. The waiters were very attentive and the manager showed gratitude for us returning and giving them the opportunity to show our first experience was just a blip and not the normal standard they offer. True to my word I said I wanted to write another review as it’s so easy to complain and tell people of a bad experience. But the other night was an exceptional experience and therefore we would be more than happy to return. WELL...

After my experience on Saturday I needed to give the place a review. I've been to Radhuni half a dozen times over the last 12 months and this was the first time on a busy Saturday Night.

There were seven of us on a very tight table which was clearly too small for all of us - even after raising this with staff we were essentially told to get on with it. Inevitably a drink was spilled by one of our party resulting in a clean up operation by us. The staff offered zero support, saw us getting drenched and left us to it. We had to go and replace our own cutlery. Nothing, not a word from the staff. For a £300 meal you'd think offering replacement serviettes would be expected.

Then there's the bill. I'm used to it because I've been here before but there is always an automatic 10% service charge added to your bill which is completely optional however to me the thought of suggesting by how much I should over-pay is insulting. Especially considering the service received. And it always causes debate in a large group of whether it should be paid or not often souring the experience. Insulting, don't put it on the bill at all.

Food cannot be faulted however, it was awesome as always! (Never order a pint from the taps though, you'll end up with a pint that tastes of egg/sewer water. They don't get through the barrels quickly enough)

My other meals throughout the year have been faultless however. The staff cannot do enough for you and the food is amazing.

But a note - please avoid the place on a Saturday Night. They can't cope with the amount of patrons they're...
