OVERCHARGED! Bad quality, bad service.

Went with my friend for dinner, the restaurant was empty, there were 2 servers and a manager stood there chatting and we had to keep waving every time we needed something. Other than poppadoms the food was of poor quality, I had the house special vegetables which had no taste and my friend had the Zafrani Chicken, where the sauce was completely wrong: you could see it didn't mix up properly, cream was in small pieces with oil separated from it. My friend felt sick after. We left in a hurry so didn't check the bill when I paid and found out we were OVERCHARGED too: one extra bottle of water that cost £5.75!!! and an extra poppadam. I can only give this restaurant a 2 star review because of the extremely slow service. It took over an hour and a half to get main courses. They were understaffed due to staff illness. Which is understandable, but a warning that there may be a wait when being seated would go a long way. Food ok. I enjoyed my crab starter, my partner enjoyed his jalfrezi main. After waiting a lifetime for our meals, we suggested to one of the managers we were not prepared to pay full price. He was polite and apologetic and offered a discount and us some drinks, if it wasn't for his good customer service it would have been a disaster. What a fabulous experience. My wife who is Indian, has been struggling to find a good Indian restaurant to eat at in the local area for years now. Outside of Southall or hounslow, Rajbhoog is the best Indian restaurant, our go to for India used to be "The Tigar Pad" (if you know.... You know 😉) Rajbhoog is our new favourite Indian restaurant. The food was beautifully spiced and delicious, hot and perfectly presented.
