I can just about rate the food as we did manage to receive some poppadoms at the beginning of the evening, but the rest of the food was nowhere to be seen! We pre booked a table for 7.45pm, we were about 10 minutes early, but we were seated early (as our table was ready) and ordered food straight away, no food was seen by 8.30pm, I asked a waitress about our order, she said that they were short in the kitchen, so things were taking a little longer, but the food will be out ASAP, she gave us a drink on the house..... however, every other table had been receiving their meals before my husband and I! 8.50pm, the manageress informed us that the food is on its way, only a few more minutes..... again, every other table were receiving their meals (even the ones who came in after us). 9.10pm, still nothing for our table, but other tables continued to recieve their orders!! As my husband and I got up to leave, I sternly informed the waitress that I was NOT prepared to pay for anything tonight, the poppadoms or any drinks as I was disgusted at the wait, and that if they were short in the kitchen, they should've stopped taking bookings and orders!! I feel like we kept getting fobbed off, I absolutely hate this! If they had forgotten our order, own up to it! I still would've been annoyed, but i would've respected their honesty..... And, reading the previous reviews, it doesn't sound like we did miss...
Read moreFood was appalling. Waiter was excellent. Otherwise this would be a one star review. Rice tasted strange - was it cooked earlier in the day. The kernels were hard in the centre and the outside of each kernel disintegrating. I've been cooking rice for decades and never seen anything like this.
Generally, overpriced with no flavours. My 'vegetable Jalfrezi' was literally a red thick sauce with 6 large vegetable pieces. They'd be better off getting a decent Jalfrezi sauce from the supermarket.
Definitely overpriced. Without drinks it was about £25 - £30 per head. The poppadum's had been warmed up in the microwave - there was pieces of microwave burn (too chewy and weird) in the centre. The children's food to be fair was a decent size and nothing to complain about (it was a children's burger with beans.)
Nothing authentic eastern about these dishes. Avoid. Buy a Lloyd sauce and rice and make your own... Sorry, the staff were lovely, so lovely I didn't want to complain at the time. It wasn't their fault - whoever is responsible for quality control is not doing their job. Such a shame and a poor end to an otherwise...
Read moreAbsolutely Appalling – Don’t Ignore the vast amount of 1 star Reviews, Like We Did!
If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. We made the terrible mistake of ignoring the bad reviews, and I honestly wish I could turn back time to save myself from this culinary disaster. The staff all seem lovely so I’m just not sure where it all has gone wrong.
The food was completely flavourless—it tasted like it had been rinsed in water before being sent out. Every bite was an exercise in disappointment. The naan bread? Calling it “naan” is generous. It was more like raw dough slapped together and sent out without even seeing the inside of an oven. Absolutely inedible.
The portions were mercifully small, but in this case, that was a blessing. Had there been more, I don’t think I’d have survived the ordeal.
Save yourself the disappointment, the money, and the misery. There are far better options in Centre Parcs—literally anything else would be better than this. Avoid...
