I had booked the pancake house twice during my center parcs stay. Online and the reviews say they cater to both gluten free and vegan diets. When I arrived this morning for my reservation, I asked what they could make me which was both gluten free and vegan (this is due to my dietary intolerances). They checked with the kitchen and the feedback was that because they were understaffed they could not make me any pancakes which were both gluten free and vegan. Of course this result was unsatisfactory and they clearly do not make anything from scratch. They didn’t offer me any alternatives either. As I could not eat anything which would not make me unwell, I got up an left and cancelled my second booking of the pancake house. The staff seemed unfazed when I told them I had to leave as I couldn’t eat anything. Very disappointing since they say they cater for dietary requirements online, and the pancake house is supposed to be a staple of a center parcs experience. If you have dietary requirements, don’t bother...
Read moreWe booked a table and had an email confirmation but the next day when we turned up they had no record of the booking and had to search for a table to fit us in. Ordered and paid via the app where you are asked if you want to leave a tip, before you have even seen or heard from a waitress/waiter. Paper menu doesn’t match the app menu. Ordered a bottle of sparkling water. Drink came with a glass that had someone else's leftover drink in. Asked for a replacement glass and given another slightly less dirty one without ice. Food came quickly which was good but tasted revolting and couldn’t eat it. Really bitter, artificial taste. Stodgy, undercooked. I had the forrester. Husband had meat one which was ok. I paid £1.50 for a 10p sachet of mayo which I had to ask for again as they forgot it and which was plonked on the table by the bored, unhappy looking waitress. Noone came to clear our plates when we had finished and all other tables had piles of dirty...
Read moreNot a great experience tbh. The staff were friendly enough and the wait times were minimal. However a couple of things. Several times a week the pancake house closes at 16:30. The last time slot you can book is 15:45. Don't book at this time. We had just ordered our food and a member of staff approaches us and says that they are closing for drinks and coffees. Bare in mind we had only just ordered and received our first drinks. Then after receiving the food it was cold, and the waffle was rock hard almost like it had been under a heat lamp for a while. The pancakes were also cold. We then got asked 5 minutes into our meal whether we would be wanting dessert. It was just like they were trying to get rid of us! Either open longer or reduce your booking slots!
For that reasons coupled with the menus needing a good clean I rate this 2.4 out of 5.
I love centreparcs itself, however I feel if this restaurant was outside of centreparcs it would not be...
