Went to my first Beefeater last week and was impressed. Especially as we had a voucher giving 40% of our bill. Got another voucher via e Mail offering one free meal when you bought two. I had also registered for the Rewards card after the first visit and so decided to take a drive out, do some shopping and try another Beefeater establishment. Huge car park outside and it looked a massive building. Easy access even for people with mobility problems. As I said it was huge building and was the same inside. Would hate to guess how many covers they could serve here. I already knew what I wanted having looked at the menu online. I went for the Steak Sampler. 3 x 4oz steaks. Rump, sirloin and fillet. Ordered medium rare. My brother went for the 10oz Gammon, egg and chips. Our server said they had no pineapple so they could give him a second egg. My brother said he thought this would be too much so asked for a few extra chips. He also likes his egg hard. Numerous times we have been out and, despite asking for this, the egg has been soft. Happy to say this wasn’t the case this time. He got his egg well cooked with a hard yoke. And a huge pile of chips. The food was piping hot. Decent sized portions. Obviously at these prices it wasn’t the best steak I have ever had but I definitely had no complaints. Even the peppercorn sauce was good. A little thin but I found it tasty with a decent kick to it. Then came the best bit. The bill. I showed our server the discount code I had on the e mail on my phone and presented my Rewards card. He made a note of the code and took my card away before returning with the bill. I couldn’t believe what we had been charged once the discount had been applied. The Ā£22.99 for the steak had been taken off the bill and the total including 2 pints of lager and a large glass of Rioja was Ā£29.68. Absolutely fantastic value for money. Ok, it’s not the greatest food you will ever eat but in terms of value it’s excellent. I would recommend you get a Reward card and look out for any offers or money off deals online then visit and enjoy a pretty decent meal at a rock bottom price. Like the last Beefeater we visited the place was very tidy. Also nice and warm despite the freezing temperatures outside. I used the disabled toilet. It was spotlessly clean. My brother used the main toilets. He also commented on how clean they were. As long as Beefeater keep sending me such good money off deals I will continue to use them. They have a pretty extensive menu and a number of dishes I would be happy to try. Hopefully will be trying another of their establishments fairly soon. Just a shame there isn’t one closer to home.

Staying at the nearby hotel, this seemed the obvious place for eating and I've had some quite good meals there in the past - but felt this experience fell short of what I'd had before. It certainly seemed to take some time before the meals came - a good 30+ minutes - and the meal didn't feel too hot, as though they'd all been prepared some time earlier but had been sitting waiting. I didn't seem to have a great deal of chips with the steak - I seemed to recall Beefeater's came with "bottomless chips" but he waiting staff never seem to offer any. It was find for a quick bite, but not as great as I recall. The Sunday night was worse... I'd ordered lamb with potatoes and peas, but although the lamb was good the potatoes were quite dry and the peas hard, like they'd been reused from lunchtime. Again, the meal wasn't too warm, feeling as though it had been sitting around for a bit. I've stayed there for a few weekends now and I've a feeling I'm going to eat out somewhere else Sunday night.

Food was good, staff were friendly and we were able to use a 40% promo code that they send out to locals. Would be 5* but we had to wait 1 hour for our meal to come and they forgot they had sold out of something we ordered.. We found out when it didn't arrive. They gave us a free drink and extra chips and onion rings to make up for it. Nice place but always busy *EDITED* reduced rating, went again and the service was not too good again. Took around 15 mins to bring our drinks and 45 mins to bring our food even though they were not too busy (lots of empty tables), they did keep apologising for the delay which was nice but this happens every time I go. Prices are quite expensive and the Porton sizes are quite small. I ordered a safe fish and chips but I was served hardly any chips and it was served on a thin rectangular plate, fish was nice but overall disappointed. Would prefer to go elsewhere if given the opportunity, great for a drink I would say 😁

We booked here on route after a fun day in Blackpool , it was after 8pm so was a little hard to find anywhere initially. Having looked for a while we found this place. On arrival ( 4 adults, 2 Children) we were seated straight away and left with menus, 10 minutes later our drinks order was taken and shortly after so was our food order. We all ordered different meals so it was great to see a good variety of meals on the table. Initially everything seemed good. The lamb chops were juicy and cooked to perfection , the cheeseburgers were soon eaten by the kids , 1 adult had a rump steak cooked to perfection and another had a chicken dish which was eaten with gusto. However one of the dishes ordered was the more expensive steak variety and was ordered medium rare. On arrival all seemed to be well, the sides and sauces were nicely cooked and very tasty. Sadly when the steak was cut it was rather thin and very overcooked. The waiting staff was informed and without any questions the offending steak was whisked away and a completely fresh cooked meal with a now perfectly cooked steak was presented. Obviously by this time everyone else in the party had finished eating which left this individual feeling a little awkward so they shared out the extra food ( chip etc). The staff here were lovely and a good time was had by all. I do however feel that the food was somewhat expensive in comparison to other chain brand establishments.! Upon paying the bill by card I was informed it had failed knowing it shouldn't have I presented my card for another attempt which was successful. However the next day as I was checking my bank I noticed two payments had been taken by the pub. When I contacted them they were very apologetic and informed me that hopefully it should bounce back into my account, if not I had to call again in a couple of days. The money was returned and all was well just a few days later. I was informed that this had happened before so I would advise you check your account after a visit here just to be on the safe side. Ok would I recommend this place?? Honestly no probably not, the main reason being I know you can get food as good and better for much cheaper, and though the food was nice on all counts for the amount paid It wasn't a wow or all that memorable. Proven I guess by finding my hand written review in my food journal and only now 2 months later adding it here. I just wasn't overly blown away. Nor would I feel the need to...

Won't be going again. Ordered the battered fish (haddock) and chips.. I can understand serving fish with the skin on however I've never been anywhere where they serve haddock BATTERED with the skin left on. There was no mention of this on the menu nor was it sold as 'whole fish'. I let 2 staff members know about this, the first one who took our plates didn't even appologice and said "that's because haddock has skin on but the Pollock and cod don't" You couldn't make it up, baring in mind cod and Pollock isn't even on the menušŸ¤¦šŸ˜‚ Pollock is a lot cheaper then haddock so seems to me it may be getting sold as haddock as why would she mention 2 other fish thst isn't on the menu, bit fishy to me. Not to mention the fish didn't taste fresh at all and was 100% frozen. The second staff member who took our payment at the till was very apologetic about the situation however again nothing was done to rectify the issue. My friends Sunday lunch was alright however the quantity of gravy was so little and when she asked for more gravy the waiter came out with a jug the size of something from a barbie house. No joke it was tiny. We also felt the prices were a bit considering the quality of the food. I would like to point out however the waiters were very nice and made our trip a bit more plesent however something should have been done about...
