Went to my first Beefeater last week and was impressed. Especially as we had a voucher giving 40% of our bill. Got another voucher via e Mail offering one free meal when you bought two. I had also registered for the Rewards card after the first visit and so decided to take a drive out, do some shopping and try another Beefeater establishment. Huge car park outside and it looked a massive building. Easy access even for people with mobility problems. As I said it was huge building and was the same inside. Would hate to guess how many covers they could serve here. I already knew what I wanted having looked at the menu online. I went for the Steak Sampler. 3 x 4oz steaks. Rump, sirloin and fillet. Ordered medium rare. My brother went for the 10oz Gammon, egg and chips. Our server said they had no pineapple so they could give him a second egg. My brother said he thought this would be too much so asked for a few extra chips. He also likes his egg hard. Numerous times we have been out and, despite asking for this, the egg has been soft. Happy to say this wasn’t the case this time. He got his egg well cooked with a hard yoke. And a huge pile of chips. The food was piping hot. Decent sized portions. Obviously at these prices it wasn’t the best steak I have ever had but I definitely had no complaints. Even the peppercorn sauce was good. A little thin but I found it tasty with a decent kick to it. Then came the best bit. The bill. I showed our server the discount code I had on the e mail on my phone and presented my Rewards card. He made a note of the code and took my card away before returning with the bill. I couldn’t believe what we had been charged once the discount had been applied. The £22.99 for the steak had been taken off the bill and the total including 2 pints of lager and a large glass of Rioja was £29.68. Absolutely fantastic value for money. Ok, it’s not the greatest food you will ever eat but in terms of value it’s excellent. I would recommend you get a Reward card and look out for any offers or money off deals online then visit and enjoy a pretty decent meal at a rock bottom price. Like the last Beefeater we visited the place was very tidy. Also nice and warm despite the freezing temperatures outside. I used the disabled toilet. It was spotlessly clean. My brother used the main toilets. He also commented on how clean they were. As long as Beefeater keep sending me such good money off deals I will continue to use them. They have a pretty extensive menu and a number of dishes I would be happy to try. Hopefully will be trying another of their establishments fairly soon. Just a shame there isn’t one closer to home.

Booked a table a couple of weeks before our break in Blackpool for 7pm. Actually on the day we called in to see if it was possible to change it to 5pm and they altered the time without a problem. We arrived and were shown to our table. Scarlet was our waitress and what a lovely, attentive and friendly lady she was. Served us fantastically and even after our mains she didn't rush us in any way which was nice to see as normally other establishments want you 'fed & gone' so they can get another customer in. Our meals were beautiful. Festive chicken goujons and cheese fondue starters and then festive turkey roasts for mains. Orange Matchmaker Sundae and ape pie & custard finished the meal off perfectly. The Red Lion is a great place to dine, friendly staff that are constantly on the go. Thank you Beefeater for your great service, and especially Scarlet for being a star 👍👍

Staying at the nearby hotel, this seemed the obvious place for eating and I've had some quite good meals there in the past - but felt this experience fell short of what I'd had before. It certainly seemed to take some time before the meals came - a good 30+ minutes - and the meal didn't feel too hot, as though they'd all been prepared some time earlier but had been sitting waiting. I didn't seem to have a great deal of chips with the steak - I seemed to recall Beefeater's came with "bottomless chips" but he waiting staff never seem to offer any. It was find for a quick bite, but not as great as I recall. The Sunday night was worse... I'd ordered lamb with potatoes and peas, but although the lamb was good the potatoes were quite dry and the peas hard, like they'd been reused from lunchtime. Again, the meal wasn't too warm, feeling as though it had been sitting around for a bit. I've stayed there for a few weekends now and I've a feeling I'm going to eat out somewhere else Sunday night.

No beer, no pool table and IVY in the toilet! First Night in, I was told that the meal includes a pint of Ale! Great! But there wasn't any ale on.... so why advertise it? So disappointed I had to get a larger....this then ran out on the second night! I was then offered Coors or Carling. I then drank the Bru Dog....all 4 cans of it! Terrible supply of beers for a PUB! 3rd night still no beer, so I drink red wine (needs must) went up to play pool, Out of order, ok....things break, fair enough, so I went to the toilet and it was Freezing! Window open damp all over the ceiling and I couldn't believe it, IVY climbing its way across the room. I've spent nights on Dartmoor in a Bivy while it was snowing that were more enjoyable than this pub! Avoid!
