What a delightful little place this is. We went for a drive and ended up in Tarporley and decided to go here for lunch. From the second we walked in we were greeted with friendliness and professionalism. From the (I think) owner (Stuart) to the delightful lady chef in the kitchen, who happened to come out and talked to us (as well as others). The two lovely ladies behind the bar who were absolutely outstanding. Onto the food. This was just exceptional. Piping hot, plenty of it, and cooked to perfection. AND warm plates. We finished off with coffee which again was lovely and hot, served with a biscuit and a container of sugar cubes. A lovely touch 😁 This is a dog friendly pub set in a beautiful village which we will be back to explore. The pub was clean, tables were cleared away quickly. I'm very much a people watcher, some prefer nosey ha ha , but all the staff went out of their way to be helpful to us and others in the place as well. My only concern was that, not that I could see, although I didn't ask a disabled toilet. The ladies was clean, smelt lovely, but and I'm being very picky, hard for me as I struggled to get off the loo as I have poor mobility and had nothing to pull up on. Maybe a grab rail in one of the loos? That is so not a criticism but there are a few elderly people frequent the pub as well. You probably have a disabled loo I just couldn't see it. This pub is so well worth a visit and I'm sure no-one would be disappointed. Outside is a beautiful patio area with heating. I personally would rate this pub as 10 out of 10 and we will definitely be back. Thank you for such a...
Read moreI had never heard of this place up until about 3 days ago when a family member states we were going for a meal there. Like most people, I had a look at the menu before hand and was pleasantly surprised at the choices and couldn't make my mind up what I wanted. It wasn't your chain style menu and you can tell thought had gone into it. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff who ensured we were all comfortable sat outside ( under a large tent style canopy with outdoor heaters all around) and had our drinks order in a rapid time. A spanner was thrown into the works when I noticed they had an additional menu for the "Smokermotive" which I found amazing. They offered a variety of smoked meat platters and at a very reasonable price. I chose the Loco Box with an assortment of meet, fries, cheese sauce and mayonnaise, and I'll tell you what... It was amazing! I don't know if it was because I was hungry or I just enjoyed it so much but it didn't touch the sides and I wolfed it all down. Highly recommended if it's available. Inside the pub was busy but still kept clean and orderly with the odd times were are currently in. Toilets were clean however only one cubicle in the men's and that's probably the only negative I can give this place. It is dog friendly as well so I will definitely be returning with my Dog and stuffing my face more. Really impressed with this gem and worth the trip from the surrounding...
Read moreOur experience at The Rising Sun was great ! We really enjoyed the pulled pork nachos and the burger. Initially, we chose to sit outside, however before long, a sudden downpour surprised us. Although we were protected by the shelter, the attentive staff consistently checked on us, expressing concern that our toes might soon get wet! They kindly suggested that we consider relocating.
We didn't mind the rain too much; in fact, we found it quite soothing to listen to. However, as the water began seeping onto the floor, we realized it was time to make a move. Without us even having to request it, the staff promptly came to our aid and went above and beyond to accommodate us, despite the bustling atmosphere inside. Their kindness was truly heartwarming as they swiftly found us a table, ensuring our comfort and well-being. Their quick action and genuine care made us feel valued and taken care of throughout the entire experience. We left the restaurant with a warm sense of gratitude and a memorable...
