The pub Opened around 1999 the 700th anniversary of Hull receiving it's royal charter from King Edward l, from which it takes its name. On the edge of the Westerngales housing estate this nice two roomed pub offers a good range of pub food. Sadly no real ale on the hand pumps in the bar. The bar has darts and pool, and is also dog friendly in the bar. A nice cosy pub with friendly staff, loads of parking.

Super dog friendly pub! We took our cocker spaniel in for a couple of pints as we read on Google maps it was dog friendly and couldn’t of been made more welcome! ☺️🤗 We was brought water and toys for Louie and they also have a selection of dog treats in the bar area! Thank you so much, we will be back.

Had booked this pub for my daughters 16th birthday party 3 weeks in advance with numbers attending as between 18 to 21. Last night 30th August i was shocked how badly organised this place was with apparently only 1 chef on duty. 2 of the mixed grills came without onion rings and served with deep fried sausage "disgusting", 2 Warm buttered baguette's ordered 1 arrived after my partner had actually finished her meal and another arrived 10 minutes before my Granpa's battered fish arrived and to be fair he would have received better quality fish from Asda value meal range. 7 kids meals arrived 40 mins apart 3 where fed and outside playing when the other 4 had to stay inside. My niece ordered a burger at 18:45 and received it at 20:50 and her chips where not even cooked. Side orders of onion rings came out when all meals where finished and very expensive 3 for 1.50 and not even cooked properly. steak in ale pie is out of a packet and microwave not even a "Puka pie" served with gravy that looked more like jelly. A young lad was very apologetic for the length of time it took but overall very very poor considering it was booked well in advance. All 14 adults which i did speak to where very disappointed and shall not be...

IM NOT AFFILIATED in any way to the Royal Charter. But, you just can't beat this place for first and foremost, Staff, Exemplorary Service, Quality Food, with 'more than generous' food portions, and a Menu that caters for all tastes, at an Unbeatable Price. The outside alfresco area is always immaculately clean and well tended. With a Great Child Friendly area, From toddlers to teens, in full view (so you can always keep that all important 'eye' on your children at all times). A great time every time, we always come out knowing we won't go to any other place locally. 👍Well done Royal Charter for a 5* Rating.👍 Just to put the proverbial icing on the cake we book all our main venues here, Parties, and Xmas / Boxing Day lunches. Piccies to...

Pre booked a table for 8 for a birthday. Arrived at 5.30pm then ordered our food by 6pm. By 7.15 a few tables started to recieve food but sent it back because it was cold. We were told we were next. We waited another half an hour. So by 7.45 our food started to arrive. Most of the food was OK but one of us got the fish and chips and the fish was hard and over cooked. I received a piece of beef that was supposed to be a medium rare steak. It was over cooked and very tough. I sent mine back and waited again until after 8pm. Again sent another piece of steak that was medium this time but still tough as the first. We didn't order any desserts and left feeling very...
