'Found' this cafe this morning! Great find! As an Asperger's Syndrome sufferer, finding new 'safe' places is always more challenging than for neuro-typical people! Good friendly 'safe' people working in this cafe which most importantly let us in with our little dog. A visit to the toilet is a must - lovely clean facility - getting to it is a mini adventure along a cobbled pathway outside the back door of the cafe. Looks really 'ramshackle' until you open the door to discover a superbly clean, beautifully tiled and well maintained facility. The fare is 'fab' and the cafe is quite quaint. We shall certainly be treating ourselves to breakfast, brunch and/or lunch in this establishment frequently. It is nice to find another 'safe' eaterie which is both dog-friendly & Aspy-friendly. Nice small tables with plenty of space between them and a bowl of water for your...
Read moreI have never been in an establishment that has had management that is so rude. Being in the food Industry myself I feel I have must give a review to warn people. The food was average at the very best with scrimping of a filling, when asked reference this they agreed and came back with something just acceptable. You constantly had to ask for extra as they were scrimping all the time and this got tedious and embarrassing. The real fun was the bill, not only did they add extra items we didn't have, they also started charging extra for the items we should have had. When we went through the bill the little up start started getting rather unreasonable. Quite safe to say we won't be going back to this very below average expensive cafe. We went to Harrods the previous day and got what was expected and only a fraction more than this...
Read moreAs someone with Coeliac disease I was very pleased to find that this tea room offered gluten free soda bread, toasted. Before ordering I asked if the food was toasted separately, to avoid contamination with other products that contained gluten. The response from the manager was, we have a very small kitchen and 99% of people have no objection to the 'gluten free' being in contact with foods containing gluten.
This product should NOT be sold as gluten free as it will obviously contain gluten as it is in contact with other foods.
The manager had no interest in me trying to explain to her why it is not a gluten free product. As someone in the food industry she should be aware of allergies and...
