The menu was limited and staff didn't know the difference between sourdough and granary; makes no difference to you but does to those with a yeast intolerance!

I rarely update a review but this time I feel it's warranted. My previous review above was written pre-Covid and I've noticed an improvement in the cafe's customer service (and addition of sourdough to the menu). This review is based on my experience of the cafe over a 2-week period in September when the cafe was offering take-away or an outdoor-seating service. I'd say this cafe offers the best coffee in Amersham (possibly in Bucks) and even serves Minor Figures; one of the higher quality oat milks than those commonly found in supermarkets. Over this 2-week period, I would pick up a latte and salad box to take to my partner at lunch who works in the countryside and far from any shop or eatery. Besides a few mishaps (i.e. not providing us with cutlery on a few occasions), I was very happy with the experience. I absolutely love the salad boxes and they come with delicious and nutritious ingredients with the option to mix and match and add extras such as beautifully cooked chicken breast. The cakes are equally delicious and I would highly recommend them. The only thing I would suggest is to perhaps offer one vegan cake perhaps as a special every now and then. This would be to cater to those who (like me) are intolerant to eggs but have a sweet tooth and want to enjoy a slice of cake with...

Very nice shop, some staff more helpful than the others. However if you want to know what's in the food you've ordered don't expect the menu to tell you everything.

The menu is very behind the times, nothing shows (N) or (V) for nuts and vegetarian respectively. After ordering cheese and tomato sandwich and a roast chicken sandwich we were greeted with 2 chicken sandwiches which we decided was fine, don't want to send one back.

Labelled 'roast cornfed chicken' on the menu, we dug in. Turns out they missed out a pretty essential ingredient being the satay sauce. We had to leave asap due to allergies and wasn't even offered a full refund or an apology, simply told it was our fault for not asking.

My girlfriend had to stop the car on the way home and be sick which is just outrageous. I'm a graphic designer myself and if you need someone to bring your menu to 2017 standards please let me know.

As for me I'm not allergic to much but generally dislike satay sauce anyway, I didn't think I'd have to ask what would be in my sandwich seeing as I don't have any allergies. Really disappointing and ruined our afternoon.

Would really...

A Delightful Escape at The Grocer at 15 – Amersham

Today, I had one of the most memorable experiences at The Grocer at 15. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and welcoming – a perfect stop after exploring the charming streets of Amersham.

I ordered the lemon drizzle cake, and I must say: it was divine – easily one of the best I’ve ever had. The texture was perfect, and the citrus flavor was so refreshing. Alongside it, I had a cup of fresh mint tea that was wonderfully aromatic and soothing. I also tried their classic black tea, which was rich and comforting.

What truly made the visit exceptional was the kindness and elegance of BESA, one of the staff members. Her warm smile and graceful manner added a special touch to the entire experience. She was attentive, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcome.

This little café is a hidden gem in Amersham. I’ll definitely return, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking quality treats and...

We came here for brunch around 10:30 on a week day and were luckily able to grab a table. It was very busy and as this is a small cafe there is limited seating. The staff were friendly and came round regularly so were available to order and ask for anything. I ordered the avocado on sourdough toast with feta, cherry tomato, pumpkin seeds and chilli flakes. I personally thought this was delicious, there was a good helping of avocado for the toast, which was nicely crisped. I also got one of their smoothies which was really nice, cool and well blended. I personally found the seating a little quiz he’s, as there wasn’t too much space to pull my chair out. Also, as they are so popular there were lots of people and it was quite loud. Overall I really enjoyed my meal and the staff were fantastic, I would come back again.
