Silver Birch — Restaurant in England

We had a table booked for 7pm we ordered food fairly soon after arriving, at 8.10. The waiter came over to our table to apologise for the delay and offered the table a free drink, so nice We declined the offer but was pleased that they acknowledged that we had been waiting for a long time, when the food arrived I was a bit disappointed that the stake and chips had just 14 small chips and the fish and chips just 12 , the steak and fish where lovely but a bit stingy with the chips , we didn't say anything as the rest of the food was good then we ordered pudding apple pie with custard and a biscoff cheesecake, we waited 15-20 minutes when it arrived the apple pie looked and was lovely, however my cheesecake didn't look quite right , when I tried it I was surprised to find it hot . The crunchy biscuit base was soggy, but the cheese cake was curddled, I can only think that they got my order realised the cheese cake was frozen, didn't want after everything else to disappoint me so tried to defrost it in the microwave, it didn't survive well 🤢 It's a shame as we have been a few times since my mum moved to the area and have never had reason to complain . I would have said something at the time ,but it was both my mums and my birthday, and I didn't want to spoil her evening. I hope that next time ,we will have the normal pleasant meal that we've had before Can't complain about the staff who were working hard, we're really polite and apologised for the delay but hopefully a better...

Reckless and rude.

Our evening started with the barman (glasses and beard) trying to actively put us off ordering our food by being rude and even shouting across to his colleague "I told them but they still want to order". Perhaps our night should have swiftly ended there with us leaving...

I have a serious dairy allergy. I put my food order through with the manager, who seemed to be helpful and advised on what would be safe to order. Sadly, when my food came out they presented me with a regular cheese burger.

The same welcoming bartender served the food and when I asked if it was dairy cheese in the burger, he shrugged and said that he didn't know. I made it clear to him that if I eat dairy, I will have to use an epi pen and the ambulance would have to be called. Only then did he reluctantly take it back to the chef (only after arguing that they were too busy).

Finally with the food returned to the kitchen they admitted that it was full of dairy. The courteous bartender then reassured me that the managed would actually check the food and order and make sure the chef did it correctly. At this point, I couldn't take the risk. I cancelled the order and had to sit through the meal watching everyone else...

Did a review a while ago regarding the food. Long wait over cooked. Its pub food not difficult to cook. Thought we would give it another go. 5 of us 4 adults 1 child. 2 adults received food first after 45 min wait. Cold and over cooked. A long time later the other 2 adult meals arrived. Cold and overcooked. Eventually childs meal arrived. Cold and it was only macarroni cheese! Lots of apologies but not good enough. The food has gone down hill so much so get rid of cook and get another one. As a table of 5 we all had to eat at seperate times...diabolical and we only ate it because we were all hungry after such a long wait. And it wasnt busy so they cannot use that excuse. Normally would return it and ask for refund. This pub is missing a good opportunity as many people we know now refusing to eat there. Come on guys its not difficult get it sorted get a cook who can actually cook and serve it hot. We were told trainee cook hence food ropey, so sack the trainer and the trainee as both are useless. We will not be eating there again tho as sick of wasting money and hearing pathetic excuses and not actually...
