It's OK, very good sometimes. Staff are sometimes miserable, but I think they're overstretched. In less busy times it's very pleasant, good food well cooked, decent selection on the menu. Good selection of drinks, lagers and sometimes great beers. Oft frequented by interesting arty and thespian types, the bar is part of the arts centre, in the orangery of a big old house in the middle of a nice park with lakes. Consequently, in warm summery days the it's is festooned with unruly kids (I'm blaming parents who have no respect for other people and allow them to run around unchecked), park users availing themselves of the toilet facilities and, very much less annoyingly, people sitting outside buying drinks. Time your visits to the bar so that you're not there during busy intervals in the performances going on elsewhere in the building. If you're unlucky enough to need another drink during an interval - just wait 10 minutes, the huge queue will disappear in a trice. Give it a go; you'll (very probably) love it.

It’s shocking that they charge for a burger £18 BUT it ends up being left because the taste is awful. I left the burger, the chips, my daughter’s pepperoni pizza is awful and my husbands chicken honey mustard sandwich is disgusting and no trace of the honey mustard. We paid £48 for basically bin food. I don’t recommend this place to eat at all, it charges you for a higher end restaurant and it’s a 1 star one. The only upside is the park outside and the theatre for this south hill park. Don’t waste your money.

I don’t review usually, but I have to do an exception. 17£ for cup of coffee that was weak and I had to ask for 2 extra shots and pizza that actually was dough with cheese. Park is great, parking is free, but this place should be better

South Hill Park House is a fantastic venue for meeting up with friends, having drinks or enjoying a lovely meal. Depending on the season and the time of day, you can take advantage of the outside seating areas with stunning views or sit inside and enjoy a great ambience and chilled atmosphere. The food/menu is excellent and caters for youthful and mature palates and gastronomes alike. The Bar and Restaurant serves niche and local beverages; hot, cold, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The House sits in acres of parkland that you can stroll through to work off all the lovely food you'll have eaten, or to work up an appetite before sitting down to eat.... If you haven't been to this location before, this one needs to go on your...

We were so lucky with the weather. It had been raining all day but let up so we risked it. Then the sun arrived as we were walking toward the toddler swing park. We realised we could get my lovely grandson a hot chocolate. I had a redbush and vanilla tea - great selection of alternative teas. There are many things to see around Northlake - many goslings and ducklings, squirrels, a heron, two rats and fish swimming at the end of the lake nearest the house. The hot chocolate finished the afternoon off perfectly. We didn't eat but have previously and food was good. This is just one of the places that makes Bracknell the best...
