It's OK, very good sometimes. Staff are sometimes miserable, but I think they're overstretched. In less busy times it's very pleasant, good food well cooked, decent selection on the menu. Good selection of drinks, lagers and sometimes great beers. Oft frequented by interesting arty and thespian types, the bar is part of the arts centre, in the orangery of a big old house in the middle of a nice park with lakes. Consequently, in warm summery days the it's is festooned with unruly kids (I'm blaming parents who have no respect for other people and allow them to run around unchecked), park users availing themselves of the toilet facilities and, very much less annoyingly, people sitting outside buying drinks. Time your visits to the bar so that you're not there during busy intervals in the performances going on elsewhere in the building. Read moreWe were so lucky with the weather. It had been raining all day but let up so we risked it. Then the sun arrived as we were walking toward the toddler swing park. We realised we could get my lovely grandson a hot chocolate. I had a redbush and vanilla tea - great selection of alternative teas. There are many things to see around Northlake - many goslings and ducklings, squirrels, a heron, two rats and fish swimming at the end of the lake nearest the house. The hot chocolate finished the afternoon off perfectly. We didn't eat but have previously and food was good. This is just one of the places that makes Bracknell the best...
