Visited on the 25th May for my friend's birthday. We had the bottomless brunch, which consisted of 2 hours of unlimited cocktails and a choice of brunch dish. Our server was Gina, and she was an absolute diamond. Gina was welcoming, funny, and understood the vibe of our group. The Slug was also celebrating its own birthday, and so patrons were treated to a shot of Tequila Rose topped with cream ( very tasty 😋). 2 members of our group had the plant based breakfast, and they raved about how good it was, always a bonus coming from self-confessed carnivores. My goddaughter had the big breakfast, and I had the cheeseburger. We were all pleased with the food, and the cocktails were on point also. The loss in point for atmosphere was not due to the Slug but more to the fact that we were a lively bunch and the other customers seemed much much tamer...lol. Bottomless brunches should always be a vibe, and Gina our server definitely passed ✔️ we will definitely be going back and look forward to even more great...
Read moreI'm going to start with the service and communication before we even arrived. We booked bottomless brunch for 15 people 6 weeks in advance. Apart from the generic email of confirmation, nothing else was received. On the morning of, I got an email through telling me they can't do the booking with pre ordering the food choices! 6 weeks and they leave it until the day of... Not ideal. I tried to call, no answer. Email...no answer. Eventually got through but weren't bothered.
On the day, bottomless brunch was ok. Nothing more...we only ended up with 5 drinks in the 2 hours as service was extremely slow. On 2 occasions our drinks didn't turn up so we had to reorder them. Not great, I know it's a busy Friday but needs to be better.
We had also booked a table for 16 people for the evening for flamingo bingo. When we were seated they told us it's a table for just 12! What?!
Flamingo bingo was good. The DJ not great but just about managed.
In comparison to other S&L branches, this...

We raised this with a staff member who collected our plates and all she had to say was I hope your weekend gets better. Will not be eating dinner there ever again. Friend has been there for breakfast and said that was nice so we were expecting nice food but it really wasn’t. We had the fish and chips and chicken and chips and both had hard peas, even though mine were supposed to be mushy there were still hard ones in there. The fish tasted bad and only ate a bit of it, the chips were okay. My friend had the chicken, again it did not taste good, the bacon was also to overdone and inedible and the peas were solid. Chips were okay. I also asked for a tap water which I waited ages for and was then given cordial which I can’t drink (luckily not allergic but not supposed to drink) but when brought to the bar they were friendly and apologised and gave me a...
