We use many Subways, but when at home, we use the one in the town centre. On this occasion, we drove to this one, as the other had run out of gluten free bread. We've always experienced all subway staff being conscientious around cross contamination, changing gloves, wiping the preparation surfaces and changing utensils. The man serving us, changed his gloves, but didn't wipe the surface. It was covered in not just bread, but other fillings, including blobs of tuna mayo, so it really needed a clean, whether he was preparing gluten free subs or not. He couldn't separate our first sub, so gave up, and put 3 GFs in to defrost, not separated. I asked him wasn't he going to wipe the surface? He was dismissive and said no. I said that it was covered in bread, and he looked at me, and then put his face to the prep area, as if looking for something he could see. I said I was surprised, because I'd never been to a subway, that hadn't cleaned the area of bread crumbs and other mess, before preparing Gluten free subs. He said "it's alright, it's alright" and got a serviette, and flicked at the surface. At this point, I walked away. We will avoid this branch in future, and if you have concerns about hygiene and cross contamination, then I suggest you do too. I know that nothing can be guaranteed when eating out, and that are always risks, but some small effort, like removing bread crumbs, might be nice. I looked at subway's allergy policy and it does state that surfaces are cleaned, and that gloves and utensils are changed. I think this gentleman must have missed the memo on this... Or maybe he just couldn't care less, and rather use his energy to mock customers, instead of putting that energy into wiping down food...
Read moreHorrible staff, in fact the worse customer service award should go to El’s, always moody, just throws stuff onto the sandwich and half of the footlong is always empty. Don’t even bother starting a conversation with her. Had so many bad experiences with this woman I’m fed up. For some reason always pay more and more even though I get the same thing every time! So just be careful and check because she clearly can’t count :( The one in town is...
Read moreSubway is located inside the garage, open counter with the usual selection of sandwiches for you to enjoy. The lady who served me was in a bit of a fluster as the weekend staff hadn't cleaned or helped prep anything for the week. Having had my sandwich selected and toasted the usual topping applied, on closer look the salad could have been fresher but I chose the options which did look to be more on the fresh side. Overall...
