Tandoor Cottage — Restaurant in England

Firstly, we entered and no-one asked for Track and Trace details, despite notices on the the tables; QR code scanning did not work (no signal). Papadums arrived, but were soft; replaced on our complaining. Drinks arrived, including one alcohol-free Heineken which would not pour; closer examination revealed that the neck of the bottle was sealed with a plug of solid mould; expiry date on the bottle was "Sept 2020" (today is October 3, 2020); waiter replaced it with another, which was dated "Aug 2020" - even older. Manager blamed a staff-member for the lapse, and offered the drink at no cost. Food arrived, which was acceptable. Time to leave, and a visit to the Gents' toilet - which appeared not to have been cleaned for a long time. Included in the bill is a 12.5 % Service Charge - presumably as they do not expect gratuities. Management appears lackadaisical at best; shows little respect for customers, and scant regard for public health. We shall not...

Dear owner/proprietor

Order placed at 5.15pm Wednesday 28/2/2024, delivery confirmed for 5.55pm by restaurant, called restaurant 6.15pm only to be told driver is on his way. I called the restaurant at 6.45pm to cancel the order. Delivery driver arrived at 6.55pm when I told him the order had been cancelled due to the time taken and sent away. Called the restaurant again and confirmed the driver had been sent away, the restaurant representative informed me that the owner/proprietor will give me a call on the mobile that we had made the calls on. Needless to say this call hasn’t been made. FYI, the driver wasn’t to blame he was at his main work place until 6.00pm which the restaurant new about so clearly knew and lied to me about the delivery time. I have to say, WOWWWW!!!! Absoloutley amazing food, (the chicken tikka was so juicy, succelent, perfectly flavoured) the curry i wanted extra spicy and it was divine, and from welcoming me, enjoyed from my starter to my dessert, i am from out of town and i was craving my curry after having a stay in poole for work and really fancied a curry, even though it was absoloutley rammed with customers, it was a lovley happy atmosphere, everyone was smiling, laughing, and thats what its all about, togetherness.. made me so happy, even saw a 90th birthday celebration, so heartwarming, the service is 10/10, cleanliness 10/10, decor 10/10, such a cute traditional indian resturant, i will definitley come back here for occasions, i also will book for future events/catering.. overall a very happy customer.. thank you so...
