During these Covid times, this has been very worrying for a shielder, but this pub has done everything great, we were sat outside under a marquee and I thought I’d be cold, but a gas heater was out by us, which was very warm and lovely, we had a drink and food, which all was delicious, it was so nice and warm, I was able to take my chunky cardigan off, due to being nice and toastie. The service was great, very polite and friendly, there is an outside bar and the beers were on tap, they do Earl Grey Tea, which I don’t like, so I had water, the good was presented well and was really nice, the atmosphere was great to, not many people and we all had our own table, I was able to be calm and not worry at all. It’s definitely a nice pub and the dogs made it for me, being a dog lover, very friendly and enjoyed a good cuddle.

We stopped in to while visiting from out of town. We spent a pleasant evening in the outdoor space in the back. We were there on Tuesday so no food was available. The bartender was very friendly. I had a beer and a gin and tonic. The gin and tonic was very nicely made. We enjoyed our time here.

Popped in for a quick pint... stayed for 3! Great chilled and friendly atmosphere, and a welcome passion and knowledge for craft beers and real ales. (And ciders) Looking forward to coming back soon.

Absolutely fantastic pub! Proper country pub in the heart of the community, Matt and the team there are absolutely smashing it. We’d been by a few times and noticed it always had a good crowd. Walked in on a Tuesday whilst staying on holiday and we were met with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and the friendliest staff and 3 of the loveliest pub dogs! Great array of drinks and as a brewer and beer nerd, the line up was brilliant, varied and really well kept and conditioned. Immediately booked a table for a meal. The food matched our expectations and then some! (Highly recommend the block burger!) The portions were more than generous and promptly served by more friendly staff and well priced. If there’s one thing I could take back to Sussex from this holiday it would be the white hart ale house, it’s team...

This was the second visit my wife and I had at the White Hart Sturminster Newton. Unfortunately like the last time, which was sometime ago, we were again disappointed with our meal. Both my wife and I ordered from the Sunday menu, Roast Pork but when it arrived it wasn't roast pork but Pork Belly with more fat than meat. There was no mention of this anywhere on the menu, the member of staff asked if she could get anything else,my asked for mustard myself apple sauce, mustard arrived but I was told apple sauce was not available. Previously on our first visit we were upstairs and joined by the owners three dogs constantly. The star rating is the same as the White Horse at Stourpaine sadly there is no comparison, it's back to Stourpaine next time we choose to have a...
