Tesco Cafe — Restaurant in England

This has to be the worst place for world not only in York but the UK. How they get away with it is anyone's guess. I bought a stake pie meal and firstly was told I couldn't have chips as it only comes with mash. So let's start there shall we. Question people how do you make mash? Do you empty a packet of cheap Tescos value instant mash and add water? Well that's what happened here. Then we move on to the stake pie. Sorry I mean mushroom and onion with 2 x 1/2 inch cubes of I must say very nice meat. But it only gets worse. The pastry, if you can call it that. Was more like a flour and water, dough mess. I sent first one back for not being cooked and give up hope with the 2nd. The peas were ok for frozen ones. On a good side the gravy was nice. So how much do you think this mess cost me? A premium price of £6.50! I knew it was over priced to start with so expected something nice. You would probably be better getting a cheap ready meal for £2 at Tescos then asking them to cook it. It’s brilliant! They charge similar to a fast food place yet the food tastes very fresh and good quality. Would definitely recommend and it would be good to see more of these popping up in cities and places as it’s really good quality food.
