Woodthorpe Spice — Restaurant in England

Excellent service and gorgeous food; a true hidden gem.

My boyfriend and I visited yesterday and were both really impressed by the restaurant. I've lived locally to it for years and always commented how nice it smells but until yesterday had never actually been.

We were made to feel welcome from the minute we set foot through the door. The staff couldn't do enough to help us and were friendly and polite throughout. At the end of the meal we even had a nice chat with one of the waiters, who then went out of his way to get some takeaway menus for us and check their opening times etc.

The food was very tasty and very reasonably priced. After the usual poppadoms and pickles, we shared a sizzling mixed platter. Quite honestly the best I've had. This was followed by garlic rice, chicken chaat for the boyf and hawaiian chicken curry for me. All was flavoursome and my chicken dish was beautifully rich.

We've already said that we'll go again asap and are very much looking forward to it. Really really recomment this...

We've had lots of takeaways from Woodthorpe Spice and it's ended up being our fave. The food is plentiful and amazing (and we're fussy). These days the creamy dishes always seem to have so much sugar added, but their dishes are sweetish without being overpowering. They are easy to order from when you ring and the delivery person is so pleasant. We will be ordering from them for a long time to come. we travelled to york on sunday, food wanted by all I went looking for supper and stumbled upon Woodthorpe spice. I asked a few people for their opinion about the restaurant and they said it was fine. I ordered the food veggie for the wife and kids and chicken tikka for myself, I drove back to the campsite with eager anticipation and were we disappointed it was the worst curry I've ever had no taste colour was nothing like a chicken tikka and no favour if you are ever on your travels avoid...
