Arrived with my friend and our children- we tried to keep them as quiet and organised as possible but we felt like an inconvenience.

The food looked lovely, my children had a caramel shortbread type thing (on the pricey side) I had a slice of carrot cake.. just for myself and children we spent almost £20 on a pot of tea and two cakes and drinks. Now my problem wasn’t so much with the prices I understand costs etc.. my problem was with the carrot cake, I questioned the icing to which I had quite an abrupt response. I found the icing to taste fizzy (as did my friend) or off/odd- I was told that’s the recipe (I scraped the other half of icing off) and I left. I went to work that evening and I was so sick. Nothing else I’d eaten that day was unusual to me so can’t of possibly been anything else. The sickness lasted the night and was nauseous the next day. Minus two evening shifts at the hospital I’m definitely at a loss. We won’t be returning and have passed on negative reviews to friends unfortunately to which I found my in-laws also had an...

I hadn’t seen my Mum for 5 months so I wanted to organise something special to celebrate us being able to see each other and her birthday.

I certainly wasn’t disappointed by the Ploughman’s Afternoon Tea from Love to Eat. The food was excellent and there was so much of it! It was excellent value for money. My mum and I ended up having it over two sittings there was so much.

The selection of cheeses, ham and chutney was really great. The cakes and scones were very fresh and tasty. I really can’t say enough good things about how impressed both of us where by the Afternoon Tea.

Fiona was so helpful and friendly in arranging everything. I will definitely be ordering a take away from here again and I can’t wait to visit in person when restrictions...

Let’s be straight here…I have a healthy appetite and enjoy a decent butty.. this place has a wonderful setting and is situated just alongside a local pond so a lovely walk and afternoon tea is a must…

When I visited I ordered a sausage, bacon and egg sandwich although the food itself was cooked nicely and the sausage was meaty I can’t help but feel it was missing quantities…

Would I buy it again? Yes if I wasn’t hungry and just bought it as an extra.

The service was excellent and I was made welcome from the off.. you can book a table to avoid disappointment too!

Lovely quiet spot with staff that care about their customers.

Would recommend for a sit down lunch but not for an overly hungry grab...

Lovely tea and cakes here at love to eat. Can be a bit pricey but it is worth it for the tasty cakes and peaceful cafe feel. A walk in Chapman’s pond next to the cafe is a great option after a spot of tea! If you are not great with noise, inside is the best seating option. I would recommend the coconut and raspberry cake!
