Tesco Cafe — Restaurant in England

Had two lovely meals here, the first was fish n chips which came with a choice of either mushy or garden peas. The fish was cooked to perfection, lovely crispy batter and the fish melted in the mouth, the chips were also nice and lovely and hot, it was served with tartare sauce and a slice of lemon, the service was quick and it excellent value. I’ve been twice and had a ham n cheese toastie the second time which was in crusty bread, absolutely delicious, as was the latte. I was very impressed and will definitely be going back. Well done to all the servers and kitchen staff who were all friendly even though rushed off their feet. Great...

Often pop in here for convenience, although today we were served very abruptly & rude by a male member of staff who just kept saying "I" after everything we ordered, was dismissive when i asked where i scan my clubcard, then pointed to my drink further along the counter as thought telling me to move along...! guess he wasn't in the mood to talk to people, very very poor customer service, then if that wasn't enough he had only given me one of the 3 drinks I'd ordered anyway, which another lovely polite young lady brought for me with an apology, maybe the chap would be better located behind the scenes rather than front of house...

If you like dirty tables and finishing your coffee long before your food arrives then this is the place for you. Most of the staff obviously don't want to be there either. Used to be a good cafe with cheerful staff, quick service and the tables were sanitised/ cleaned as soon as they became vacant but you need to ask for a cloth and do it yourself now. Customers dump dirty plates etc on empty tables which only adds to the filthy eating conditions. Come on Tesco - wake up and...
