Thai Boran Street Food — Restaurant in England

To be fair, I'm not sure why I relented and chose to visit a restaurant, any restaurant on valentines night, it's always poor service and below par food. However the thai boran, or thai papaya takes it to new lows, I love thai food and have had so many great experiences in thai restaurants. This was not one, the waiting staff had no idea what they were doing, repeat orders were necessary more than once. The starters took about 50 mind to arrive, it was only moderately busy at the time! The food was adequate, tom yum soup okish but lacked spice, sourness and had a grainy texture, the salad was just dull, it had none if the punch that a yam neur should have, so to the mains, after about 40minutes our plates arrived, nice and hot, they then got cold whilst we waited another 15-20 minutes for the food! The grilled prawns were nicely cooked, they lacked flavour, and in one instance lacked prawn! I pointed this out to the waiter who delivered it, he apologiesed, and offered to remake the dish or replace the prawn, actually no, he walked off with no effort to listen or make good. The pad thai was Ok Nothing more the sticky rice came in a plastic bag, and was not opened for you! Anyway the one real bonus was the complete staff incompetence, as we may or may not of had all the bdrinks added to the bill, to sum up, worst and by some distance, thai mean I've ever had, steer well clear! P.s. I asked for prik nam pla 3 times and never got it, and not once did they ask how our meal was, did I mention how dire it was too! P.p.s. More than happy to chat to the management about our experience, because they need some pointers, I seriously can't imagine anyone who dined...

4 * I have been eating there almost every alternate weekend. Good food. The options under lunch deals, though limited, are great. I liked the ambience and the decor they have made inside. Give a nice cosy feel. Service is somewhat on a slower side, wouldn't complain about it though. Thai green curry chicken is my fav here.

EDIT: Been here again on 9 Dec, for lunch. Had a very poor experience. The waiter didnt understand what we ordered it seems, spicy stir fried tofu had pieces of pineapple in it. Hardly there were 2 pieces of tofu present in the dish and the overall portion size was also smaller than usual. Ordered the chicken green curry, which was very much watered down and bland on taste and this time just 2 small pieces of chicken. Overall the portion sizes have been dwindling over our past few visits. Now, if that's the way you treat your regular customers, taken for granted, you just lost 2 customers. I dont think we are going there again in near future. -2 stars from the previous rating.

EDIT: 2019-04-10: The food quality has seemed to gotten better now, back to previous standards. But the low food quantity still remains an issue. It is never a standard portion size they serve. And the size seems to grow smaller by...

Couldn't be slower if they tried. Ordered two vegetarian dishes and a rice in person which came to £36 Was told to come back in after 20 minutes which I did and waited waited waited. After 15 minutes was told haphazardly "sorry one more dish left" So either one dish is getting cold or obviously nothing had been started. Another 20 minutes later I'm told it's ready. Honestly at this point when I got called so long had gone by it took me a moment to realise why I was there in the first place! On the way out im met with a parking ticket because my hour ticket had ran out and on pay display which I wouldn't have even put on but I hadn't the exact change for 30 minutes. Dreadful experience watching the only party of 4 in there get served their mains, chat, drink their beers pay and leave whilst still waiting for my small order. Local business owner and landlord so always root for local business but this should be avoided at all costs, it's not a true representation of the other good food outlets in the area. Their non descript 5 star reviews shout "cover up." Try at your own risk if your willing for them to grow the ingredients of your order...
