Night out at the Beaufort first time for a while. Couldn’t get the app to work and no WiFi always have that trouble here think it’s just cos it’s stone walls. 2 girls behind the bar not very helpful at all.when we said couldn’t get on the app. She said well you ll have to wait about 10mins for someone to come and take your order. We ordered some food which was good, lovely young chap took our food order who was very polite very helpful. We decided to have another drink so went to the bar and asked if we could order some more drinks. Girl behind the bar said yes I’ll send someone over, even though she didn’t seem very busy, after waiting for 15 mins no sign of any service although another lady seemed to get her drink straight away . After 15 mins we gave up. Young man who had served our food said Thankyou and good night.. I said to the girl behind the bar we’ve given up waiting for our drink she gave a sickly smile and said bye. I could understand if the pub was busy but it wasn’t and while we were waiting to take our food orders the 2 bar staff (both females) were behind the bar chatting to each other. I have been coming here for years last time another lady was happy to take our orders when all 3 of us couldn’t get on the app. Really disappointed in the attitude of the 2 female bar staff not friendly or helpful at all. But fair play to the man who took our food order very polite and food was good. Will give it a miss for a bit hopefully have some new bar staff by then, shame nice pub which we usually go to quite regularly a never had a...
Read moreI stopped here for dinner while I was waiting for a train from Bristol, and I was pleased with the service and quality of food. It’s a very normal chain-style pub, and I was surprised there was no chicken on the set Sunday roast menu, but not a problem. I ordered the ‘duo of roast’ - beef, turkey, pigs in blankets, veg, potatoes, and stuffing. It was spot on, and the gravy was flavourful and rich. Just minutes after I ordered, via the website so I didn’t have to leave my bags, my drink arrived to my table, and I only had to wait 5-10 minutes for the meal, not long at all! Once I finished, I decided to get dessert as I had time (given the fast service), and it arrived just as quickly. I will say, I ordered the brownie & ice cream for dessert as it was small, but it was advertised as coming with a tea or coffee - however there was no way of choosing tea or coffee on the website, and it arrived in under 10 mins, without a hot drink, and the waiter didn’t ask. It wasn’t worth the full £4.99 without the drink, but I had a train to catch so didn’t have time to push for it. The staff did their jobs well, nothing out of the ordinary, they were mostly teenagers made to work on a bank holiday Sunday, so it’s probably to be expected. It was still good service, a nice place, which I definitely...
Read moreTrouble with this place, the MUSAC is way way, too loud. Music is personal. That's why personal headphones have worked out so well. When you go to places like this, you want to hear other people speak, and you do not want to get a hoarse voice trying to shout all evening when you want to speak?. My boss likes taking us here because it's near work but we all long to get away because no one can even hear themselves think. So we are just waiting, getting bored. I hope the owners do not respond to this comment because others can't follow it up and make a rejoinder. Just turn the music DOWN. It's all you have to do? If you don't, people won't stay. Who is that loud music for anyway? Your bored staff? It's certainly not for the customers! What could be more boring than average scenery to the sound of MUSAC that you have to bow down to and just accept. I just long to go home. Please, do your customers a favour, turn it down to next-to-nothing? If you don't, people will not stay long? Maybe that's what you want? People to buy a drink and then leave? The food is better than at a truck stop but not by more than a michelin tyre. The music though? OMG. I'd rather listen to the train announcements at Bristol Parkway (5 mins walk away) than suffer...
