What a lovely, friendly pub. Comfy chairs, table had fresh flowers. Attentive service from the landlord and really nice staff, the Sunday roast beef and yorkshire came with lots of perfectly-cooked veg* and nice gravy. Incredible standard for a very reasonable price. Had to sit a while before deciding if we could manage a dessert... Locals were following a big match footie at the bar-end, the noise from it wasn't obtrusive in the dining area, it was nice to see them. There is a funny big brown well-behaved dog, which stands and looks hopeful, then wanders off. The pub has a small car park which we didn't spot, we parked by the playing field. Chicken Platter description stated, a breast of chicken (This one was more Kate Moss than Dolly Parton) chicken goujons, spicy wings, and onions rings, Call me picky, but for £15, I would have expected more than two of each. Technically, providing two does allow for it to be pluralised, but really? Pub had lots of atmosphere with lots of friendly locals. Loved that the pub was so dog friendly, only sad we didn't have our little man with us to get a portion of the tasty dog lunches the landlord was providing! Would return...
