I visited this place recently with a friend and was prepared to be patient when it was clear they were having Wi-Fi issues — things happen, and that’s understandable. However, what left a bad taste in my mouth (before I even got to order) was the fact that they chose to skip over us in line and serve the man behind us. Whether or not he was going to be a quick transaction isn’t the point, or a regular, — first come, first served is basic customer service, and it felt rude and dismissive to be overlooked like that.
Also, as a vegetarian, I find the menu frustratingly limited. It seems like the only meat-free options revolve around avocado and eggs. There’s a whole world of delicious vegetarian ingredients out there — it’s a shame they’re not exploring it. Just a note for next time, if halal options are available please make this very clear.
RESPONSE:
Hi, I really appreciate your response.
In all honesty I’m not too sure why you’d mention that we were sat on two different tables with two laptops…we were two people, who each own a laptop and also paid separately for our items - for that reason we were entitled to use the small tables available. Regarding the respect and space for others, I do believe it was just my friend and I in your cafe at the time.
Secondly, we did not at any point use your WiFi as we were using our personal hotspots; if you could kindly reread the review, I commented on the WiFi of your iPad which was not working whilst you served the third person in the queue rather than myself who was first in line.
Thirdly, regarding the change of staff I am not the only person who has commented on this when discuss with others - but no problem, I will take your word for it. There must be confusion amongst staff with regard to the menu as I’ve been told by members behind the counter that the food is not halal.
Finally, whilst you comment that it is inappropriate to leave a review whilst sat in your cafe - I was not going to leave the food and drink I had paid for. I find it extremely inappropriate and highly unprofessional for you to have publicly displayed a breakdown over my review and refusing to listen to me when I commented on my worries. Had you asked why or what the problem was, rather than ranting, I would have happily removed the review. Your chef even got involved - I was...
Read moreI’m really sorry to be writing this as this is the second time I’ve had to leave a review of this nature. But I went in today to find out that they no longer do smoothies, I don’t drink caffeine and the only other alternative was apple/orange juice or frappes. I wanted something a bit less sugary or slightly healthy. There were crumbs all over the floor which could’ve been cleaned since there was only a few people in the cafe. The waitresses are just so grumpy and off with customers it makes it really hard to like this place! When it first opened I absolutely loved it.
Edit: the person responding to reviews is incredibly rude and sarcastic. Just take some criticism and work on it? Two girls were stood talking when instead they could’ve cleaned the crumbs off the floor? And also could’ve smiled a bit? It was very unwelcoming. I was very nice when replying that I didn’t want a frappe, much nicer than how the staff were when we came and went. I have given lots of 5 star reviews but I only really leave a review if I’m not happy. I think lots of people do this! Something to think about. FYI I even gave you 5 stars for food. But obviously you chose to ignore that. Such a shame. Not to mention that on my last review you asked me to give you another...
Read moreI love moc&more and have visited a few times for coffee with friends since it opened.
The food and coffee are always fantastic. There is a wide selection of cakes and sandwiches which are all beautifully presented. Sadly there are no gluten free options (based on the labelling visible).
I’ve recently become a mum, and I was sad yesterday to realise that there are no baby changing facilities in the toilet, so I had to find an alternative solution yesterday which was not ideal. It’s made me rethink future meet-ups with friends and it’s a shame because moc&more is a lovely place to meet.
Getting a fold down baby changing table could be a really quick win for moc&more and I would gratefully welcome it so that I can continue to visit and...
