Poems could be written about the epic that was our wait for food.
We arrived a bit early and from the outset the guy that greeted us seemed unsure about finding us a table, even though we'd booked. They didn't initially take a drinks order, so we went to the bar and ordered. This was forgotten. We ordered food at 6:45pm, excited but hungry. Time ticked on. After asking about where our food was, we were told there had been some confusion in the kitchen but we were now the highest priority. We finally received our starters at 7:30pm. Ravenous. The starters were enjoyable. We didn't receive our main dishes until 8:30pm. Disappointment.
While the guy serving us apologised for the wait, he merely said there was nothing they could do about it. When getting the bill, no apology was given. After asking they agreed to remove one round of drinks only (which we wouldn't have ordered had the food been on time), while gracious, when we went to pay we were told the card machine wasn't working and we'd have to pay with cash, which we could get from a cash machine down the street. Frustration.
While the food was tasty, this place is definitely expensive for what you get, and especially for the service that we received.
Wouldn't recommend unless you have time on your hands and a full...
Read moreThis is one of my favourite restaurants in teeside, but every time I come here, the service gets worse.
I called up an hour before arriving, and the waitress told me on the phone that I did not need to book as the restaurant was not very busy. When we arrived at about 17.30 we arrived to an empty restaurant apart from 3 tables of 2. The manager asked if we had booked, and we said no, and he immediately told us there's no availability and then scoffed and then said he'd be able to sort us a table.
When seated service was quite slow, even though the restaurant was empty. We were seated near the door and every customer who came in got the same attitude and was told there was no tables and then got seated after about a minute.
The food was excellent, and we both got different starters. (bbq Korean chicken and chicken skewers) Both were good portions and came with salad, which had a really nice dressing. For mains we both got Katsu Curry which was really tasty and there was a good amount of chicken. I asked for mine to spicy and they did not disappoint. We were really happy with the food the only thing we would of liked is slightly more curry sauce as it did not cover all the rice...
Read moreGot let down by another local restaurant on the day of my friends Hen meal. Called Copperstone to get a table very last minute for 4 of us. I explained it was a very small informal hen and they told us it was not a problem. From the minute we arrived Joe made us feel relaxed and happy and they could not be more accommodating. We ordered from the Thai time menu and the food and price were exceptional. My favourite were the spring rolls and chicken penang which were tasty and authentic although everything we ordered was great. Joe was amazing and even rose to the challenge of creating us our own cocktail which was pink and sparkly, we had such fun guessing the ingredients. Joe made us feel special and important which is just what we needed after being let down at such short notice. I am so glad we ended up at the Copperstone; great food and great atmosphere and of course will be back again for 5*food and service....
