I love the Dorman. It's quirky and interesting with plenty to see, set in an absolutely beautiful building. Those little half circle stained glass windows and the taxidermy animals in reception are some of my fave things. (The animals I think have been there since I was a child, so love the nostalgia) I visited a few years back, after having not been since my childhood. I visited again yesterday to see the Titanic exhibition, which cost £6. Yes, the museum is normally free but the £6. (People who complain about paying probably don't appreciate the work that goes into getting such exhibitions set up and on loan, escially on such a huge topic as Titanic, and would probably also complain that there is never anything new to see.) The staff were lovely. Friendly and enthusiastic. Enjoyed the exhibition. Some interesting stuff and the photo and text boards were very informative. Each time I've come I've also visited the Dressers tearoom for cake and coffee. Great service and again a fun interior....

Hello.... I have noted below that I didn't go into the museum just the tea rooms, Google didnt pick up the tea room hence original my comment.

Didn't actually go into the museum itself just into the tearooms as you enter the museum. I wanted to give it a good rating as the lady who served us was lovely however, if you're hungry don't expect a normal sized portion of food. Firstly we played spot the salad, granted it was noted as garnish but to be presented with HALF of a baby tomato, around 6 crisps, a teaspoon size of coleslaw and 2 miniscule bits of lettuce was pushing it and to top it off barely any tuna in the luke warm tuna melt. Disappointing to say the least - the cakes did look appealing but decided against it as we couldn't decide if it would be worth it. All in all probably wouldn't go back. It's a...

History of Middlesbrough brought to life at the museum here and you can enjoy going down memory lane with exhibits displayed here. Always something going on here at the museum and especially at school holiday times when events are on for children. Free entry to the museum, though some activities are at a small cost. Went for the Jungle boat ride with grandchildren to which we booked online ahead. Wearing an interactive headset we set off in an adventure. A small fee paid and the bookings were at 10 minute intervals. Always visit regularly over the year. Individual Tearoom as you go in/out and worth...

Myself and the kids go here all the time from Hartlepool because the Stagecoach buses who run the number one from throston Hartlepool to Middlesbrough bus station is only 10p for the children with an adult day Tripper so it's a cheap day out plus Albert Park is next door and on Linthorpe Road there is a convenience store which does cheap snacks for the little ones. right opposite mind you stagecoach only offer the kids under 15 with an adult day Tripper when they are off school not on normal weekends

One of the best museums I've been to for a long time. Really tells the history of the area in an engaging, factual way that blends traditional displays with modern interactive ones that blend together really well. So good to see the wonderful taxidermy and egg collection still displayed as it was, a truly stunning room. I learned a lot and spent an enjoyable couple of hours. The staff were friendly and helpful and the tea room is lovely bonus.
