Great little country pub, However, if you're not from the Area or "Posh enough" do not visit, The pub was great, Lovely atmosphere for 90% of the night and it's got a great beer garden in a great location. However, me and my friends were staying in the village and we decided to visit the Crasters Arms. we spent a couple of hours here and everything was great, Expensive pints but you can expect this from a pub in this area. Once it got to about 9pm and the pub had settled down, My friend decided to order another round at the bar. He must of took about 2 sips before a seperate barmaid came over and aggressivly asked us to leave, We mentioned that we had just ordered a drink and we were going to drink it before we left. The barmaid "India" got very aggressive and started shouting at us to leave, however we had just been served a drink by someone else 2 minutes prior, On top of this, Her boyfriend was also getting very aggressive towards us and threatening us to leave. We felt singled out and discriminated just because we were not northern, and from the local area. We thought we would be nice and leave the pub so we drank as fast as we could. Once we decided to leave the pub, we were called all sorts of names by the barmaid and her boyfriend. This was when the barmaid decided to grab my friends phone and throw it outside. Luckily it landed on the flower bed so there was no damage. To sum up, We were mocked by the locals (AKA the barmaids Boyfriend) just because we were not from the area. During this, He was also trying to wind us up about how he was aloud to stay and have another drink whilst we were forced to essentially neck our drinks, So if your local its a great pub but if your not then dont come here.

Edit: Repsonding to the owner, I have uploaded a screenshot from the video of which the phone was grabbed by the staff, However I will not upload this as I do not wish to reveal the identities of these individuals as I wish to take this no further, However I am entintled to leave my opinion of this pub just as anyone else is. This also serves as proof that I have visited this pub as I am sure the bar is reckonisable in the background.

However, I do not appreciate claims by the business mentioning "Defamation of character".

It would have been more professional to have an alternative approach such as firstly apologising and investigating further before making these...

We were recommended this pretty spot by a friend. On arrival, the building is lovely and very clean inside. The menu was varied, and we were informed by staff that there was "beef or pork" available. I haven't had a proper Sunday lunch for quite some time, so I was thoroughly looking forward to it. I should have asked how the beef was cooked when I ordered. It wasn't written down anywhere on the menu either, so I had to ask for the price (£15). My bruchetta didn't taste of much, no basil pesto except perhaps the dressing that was on one corner of the bread. No check backs from the staff. At this point a couple with two large dogs came in (I love dogs, this isn't the issue) the rest of our meal was interrupted by loud barking followed by the owners shouting at the dogs, after the second or third time, you would think that the management would have politely stepped in and asked them to stop being so disruptive, no such luck. Unfortunately, the beef was very well done and clearly reheated in a water bath, still no check backs from the staff. I left most of mine. When clearing the plates, i was finally asked if it was OK, I responded that, to be honest, it wasn't up to our expectations. No response. The total bill came to £73. Not cheap, but you expect with purchasing prices being the way they are, that restaurants have upped their prices. However, what you also expect is the food to be of a certain standard, I'm terribly disappointed that wasn't the...

Tonight 4 of us went for a meal, having been here previously we were looking forward to our meal. However while waiting for our table, we chatted to the owner manager, who had no idea about social distancing. As he was explaining to us his poor reviews regarding social distancing and how people could move away from each other, he kept getting closer and closer to us until we could move no further.. We were taken to our table, table number one, on booking we were told we had to order and pay by phone. Why??? Table number one is right next to the bar and the service point. We had staff walking past us and people standing at the bar. People who just wanted a drink were allowed to walk into the pub and were queueing within a foot of our table and then order from the bar. At no point were they asked to give their phone number for track and trace. Now we get to the food, I know that Covid precautions cost money but £4 for chips and a burger for £14 that doesn't arrive as described is taking advantage. For £14 for a burger I expected something special but it arrived without most of its trimmings and was as dry as an old leather boot. Too many people were allowed into the pub and I expect an outbreak originating here at any time. Unfortunately they will have no idea who to contact to tell them to...

9th July 2025 Back again for another tasty meal. This time it was a sunny evening so we sat out in one of the colourful sheds in the garden....delightful and shady from the hot sun. Some of the chairs weren't very comfortable though. The service from a dedicated waitress was excellent as you ordered right there in your shed and paid on the spot! Food was delicious and coffees also great Will definitely be back next year. 7th july 2025 Gorgeous characterful country pub....bustling and busy with nearly every table having a dog or dogs....so quite noisy at times. Staff are incredible and yes sometimes you can wait for your meal but when you see the shear volume of meals they're putting out and the excellent quality then you can excuse that. My husband had the Turnbulls of Alnwick chicken and leek pie and said it was quite simply the best meal he,d ever eaten out....and we,ve eaten in some nice places around the world! Portions are huge so you may not make dessert! Wines and beers good. And did I say the service is excellent!!! They have sheds in the beer garden on a first come first served basis and regular tables in the garden. We,re going back again this week !

A nice looking village pub and because of all the good reviews some of us (the adults) were looking forward to getting dinner here. We'd booked a table for 8 and we were shown to our table quickly, then drinks were order and delivered quickly and efficiently. It started to go a little downhill from there when we discovered virtually nothing on the specials board was available. Makes little sense to have promote a meal that isn't available. One person did order the crab cake from the specials. They were warned that the restaurant was low on crab meat and potatoes would be used to fill out the cake, which turned out to be an apt description. Personally I got the Mushroom, Brie, Hazelnut & Cranberry Wellington. I found this and the coleslaw that came with it far too creamy, thick even. The rest of the party were happy with their meal though and the Craster Giant Beer Battered Cod option elicited high praise. Overall I'd say the price are high and the food average with opinions polarised about the quality depending what the individual ordered. I cannot fault the service though. The waitresses were friendly, efficient and helpful.
