What a disappointment. My partner and I were really looking forward to trying out this new place in town. Unfortunately we had a terrible experience in all aspects.
Firstly, the price of a bottle of cider and a J20 was ÂŁ9.70 - absolute rip off. Secondly, despite getting there at 5.30pm the earliest available shuffleboard table was 9pm. Thirdly, the pizza was undercooked with dough still visibly raw - I am pregnant and eating raw dough is dangerous. We asked them to cook it further to which they did but only for another minute so not much difference. The pizza looked nothing like the photos weâd seen on the website as well. Finally, I went to order two drinks at the bar, only to be told to wait whilst the barman took the order of two girls that arrived at the bar a good five minutes after Iâd been stood there waiting. In the end we left before we even had chance to play shuffleboard because we couldnât stand being there a minute longer. Took a short drive to Knutsford and had a much better evening out.
We are regulars at places like Roxy Ballroom and Lane 7 in Manchester so know exactly how these places should be run and are used to paying Manchester prices, however I wouldnât touch this place with a barge pole - expensive and nowhere near as smooth or good an experience. Gutted as was hoping to support a new local venue for time to come. Unfortunately that will not...
Read moreHave been to the other dockyard venues and after going to BQ several times now, this is a real disappointment in comparison. Some of the staff lack any kind of enthusiasm, or basic customer service skills. We arrived and asked about booking the darts, the staff member was unable to offer us a slot immediately as it was a few minutes past the 30 min time slots. Didnât ask how long we wanted it for, just assumed 30 minutes. Were told someone would fetch us at the allotted time, no one did so only ended with 20 minutes anyway. Which is a total rip off! When we asked at the bar about the booking, were told by a staff member they were too busy to deal with it and weâd have to wait. The staff never consider that you might not know what the deal is with playing the games, or how to, and have never asked. You always end up having to ask for basic information. You canât book the games online on the day, and no other option to call or message to ask for availability. The food order app didnât work on our last visit. The food has generally been good, but itâs quite pricy. Now have the football on big TV screens, I presume to draw in more customers. If you had people working there that actually wanted a job and to serve customers, you might get a few more people returning. Could be a real credit to Northwich, but is very...
Read moreWent to the Dockyard in Northwich on the 28th of January for a family night out, which was a Sunday evening, on our arrival at 18:30 we were told by staff that there was no food available as kitchens had closed because of no customers, so we went next door to eat. After eating we went back to the Dockyard to have a few drinks and play a few games of pool, to suddenly hear the last orders bell at 20:30 which surprised us all as a family as on the door and website it stated it was open till 22:30, i was then approached by a staff member around 21:00 and asked politely if i could pour my drink into a plastic cup as they needed to wash all glasses, i found this very disrespectful as they had served me the drink and i have never experienced anything like this in the hospitality sector. As the staff member requested me to pour my drink into a plastic pint cup, all other staff members were playing pool and turned the music up and were drinking from glasses, also was told we couldnt play darts as they were closing because they were not busy. I have never experienced anything like this, and i am sure if they have times stating when they close i would be expecting the business to close at the times stated . I certainly wont be returning if this is what Northwich Dockyard has to offer on a...
