The service at this Wetherspoon's is pretty good and the food is good when it arrives. The one stand out for this Wetherspoons is that the decor is quite abstract and beautiful. You don't realise until you visit The Grand Electric Hall how much scenery in pubs and restaurants can really change your experience and mood. I often visit with family and I love it. The food is right up my alley and the decor really gets me in a focused and happy mood. I usually order on the app, but when you talk to the staff they are usually from what I've noticed, really nice. My one problem and reason for giving this a 4 and not a 5 is that the food is nice but not the best thing I've ever tasted, but it's still a nice place to have an odd meal. As well as this, if you are sitting on the stools near the kitchen then you will often hear the kitchen staff shouting orders and sometimes at each other. It's not that pleasant when you are just trying to concentrate on your food or talk to friends and family. However it's not that big of a problem since the restaurant/pub is often not heaving during the day, which means that you can just sit away from...

As far as a Wetherspoons goes, it's fairly typical...quite large, usual menu (which seems to have shrunk recently choice wise), so usual reasonable prices.

It's the service that lets it down somewhat. Tried ordering food via their app, but it kept crashing so husband went to bar to order for the 4 of us. Two customers went to bar (which was otherwise empty) just after him. A barmaid appeared, ignored my husband & started serving one of the customers who'd come after him. Barman then appeared, ignored my husband & served the other one! No, "Who's next", etc & no apology for keeping him waiting from either. The barmaid then asked the man who'd just appeared behind my husband if she could help him! He (obviously far better manneted than the other 2 customers) & my husband put her right & she finally took our order. Husband was about to walk out by then!

Food came. Husband had ordered 2 sides with his meal. 1 came on my plate & the other we had to chase up ourselves. The place wasn't even busy!

Food was quite nice, just service let it down a bit. Tables never seem overly clean in there either, though I've seen...

It was good although ordered on the app, which didn't really go too well. Ordered mains, and and pudding separately, and for puds I ticked the for later section. They brought the pudding out immediately, before mains, so had send them back. I told them I had asked for them to be served later. The mains took quite a long time, I was babysitting my friends 6 year old, it was hard to keep her occupied, the pub wasn't even busy. After finishing, I stacked the plates up (I used to work as a waitress in a pub) but it took so long for them to pick up my plates, in the end I had to go and ask to get the pudding served, it was only then they took them away. The staff were just standing around talking, I would have been sacked if I had done that where I worked, COVID isn't an...

Staff were not helpful , carpets are scruffy looks like they haven't been hovered in days if not weeks , chairs are scruffy as F , tables weren't wiped down. Glass had lipstick marks on and they didn't care. Burger was burnt and they only replaced the burger so everything else on the plate was now cold and didn't get an apology or anything. Got to be my worst experience at spoons . Just been back to give it another go and the place is still dirty and table's not clear. I got the large fish and chips and the fish was thin and all batter , waste of money.

Prices Are Fair, Staff Are Really Friendly. Drinks are pretty cheap and cheap 89p refills on your coffee. Only down full will be after visiting today. We bought one small breakfast and one large. They both came out the same. We spoken to a member of staff and they took away the large and brought it back out with just an extra sausage and hash brown. The meal clearly states 3 sausages not two. And also was missing an extra egg. Room for improvement but take a look at your menu as your false advertisement!!!

Not sure if this place is a oasis, or a palatial gift from Wetherspoons to the people of Spennymoor? Fantastic conversion of an old cinema into a epic new pub. Inside is comfortable, with plenty of natural light, huge area too outside for drinking. Spennymoor was rather sad, the good folk of the town must have thought all their Christmases had come at once when this place opened.
