In response to the your last comment I would just like to clarify things a little.
My wife came in to pay the deposit for the meal on 11th october. At no point did anyone mention that we needed to pay anything else, and the receipt also doesn't say this. She was just told "see you on Xmas Day"
Then, on 23rd December YOU rang us up asking us for full payment. You said that this was because "a form states the meal needs to be paid up by 1st December." I then agreed to come in the next day to settle up.
When I came in the following day, I spoke to multiple people behind the bar. The first person said that I hadn't paid the 60 deposit at all. A second person then said that we actually had, but that as far as they were concerned, the rest was not due until after we had eaten the meal. YOU then came and took full payment from me.
If payment was indeed required by 1st of December then can you please show me some proof of where this is stated and then answer the following:
Why did you wait until 23rd December to contact us?
Why were other people eating on Xmas Day paying following the meal?
Quite how you have the nerve to say you "struggled to get us to pay" is beyond me.
You served us a pathetic excuse for a Xmas Lunch. My Brother and I then complained. YOU said that you were shocked at the complaint (which I don't believe). My brother didn't swear at you. He just said "The food is f*** s", which it absolutely was.
On the menu, my steak was supposed to be accompanied by a pig in blanket and a yorkshire. I got neither. The potatoes were microwaved and the vegetables were mush. Infact, every single plate of food was pretty much inedible.
I asked for half the bill back, which to be fair, you agreed to. This still means that we paid 115 quid for some pate and bread...so you've done pretty well. I should have asked for .....actually no.....you should have apologised and offered a full refund.
The worst thing in this whole fiasco is your attitude. No apology, no empathy, no care for customers who have had their Xmas Day ruined. Instead you just try and defend your ineptitude. Then you lie and say that we wouldn't pay you. DISGUSTING!! You and your establishment are an absolute joke.
One thing I would like to say is your staff (not you or your wife) were very professional, apologetic and gracious. One even told me that you "don't know what empathy is" Give...
Read moreWell where do I start? As soon as I walked into the pub with my friend I felt targeted. Just wanted a few drinks and a bite to eat on a nice Monday evening. Monday’s are cheap drinks so we got 3 drinks between ourself. Fair enough we look young so I’m always ready to present my ID at no hesitation. But we got consistently asked whether there was anyone at our table as they had to ID them, in which I said there wasn’t... as it was just me and my friend. But this woman (Tina) was very persistent that there was. I’ve worked in many bars before and gone to many pubs but I have never been treated this way. I’m not trying to smuggle a drink to a 10 year old am I? And there’s not a limit to how much drinks I can buy in one order as I don’t see anyone else getting hassled like we did at the bar or at all that evening. I challenged Tina with this. Anyways, time goes by and my friend’s sister turns up to have dinner with us (who is a teenager and too young to drink). So we all look at the menu and me and my friend goes up to the bar once again to order, leaving her sister at the table. As soon as we’re at the bar she demands one of the other workers to run over and check the girls ID, like he’s her skivvy, even before saying anything to me or my friend. At this time it’s way before 9pm and there are lots families with kids at the table, I don’t see any kids or teenagers being ID’d and ran to like that, so something is definitely wrong here. My friend runs over and tells the man she’s my little sister and no she won’t be ID’d as we’re only buying drinks for us and it’s is way before 9pm. (What young teenager anyway has ID?) This girl is only young and was quite frightened that a big man was approaching her asking questions.
This was very unprofessional of Tina especially making us uncomfortable. The food was very mediocre but the drinks were good despite the customer service we received. Fair enough if there was a big group of us, or we were causing trouble or we didn’t have our ID’s. But we came to have a quiet and untroubled evening. We felt targeted and monitored the whole evening, we didn’t say too long...
Read moreWhat an amazing experience we had at The Grenadier! We heard they had nice food but we decided to try it ourselves. Despite being in a busy area they had plenty of parking and it's free if you're a customer. Lovely atmosphere inside as they have an area for sports lovers, and then a main restaurant area for a more private meal. I asked for advice and they gave us a few options but we decided we were going to try beef ribs. I could not believe the size of those ribs, especially because of how budget friendly the prices are. Flavour was on point, right temperature, and the meat was coming off the bone effortlessly. You get the usual sides (chips, salad, etc.) and you can also upgrade for different options.
Excellent customer service - the woman that helped us was super friendly and checked on us without being intrusive.
Everything looked clean (including toilets despite being busy which surprised us).
Overall, a great dining experience. We'll...
