Went here for ease, due to recent Illness and can’t walk too far, as was going to go to the JD on the Quay. Reluctant to go but suited needs with young children at that time. Ordered food on the app which is good as can stay with children.
Received food and one meal ordered was the Cod fish and chips. The meal arrived and what can only be a thin piece of batter with slim pickings around the small sides!?! As would anyone, we asked to replace it as there was no meat on it. It was replaced but again the same looking fish. Asked for a refund and was met with a belligerent female wearing glasses behind the bar stating along the lines of “ you haven't even cut into it. It looks alright to me!” I don’t think it was her place to say this and she basically was refusing a refund as it “looked alright and there’s bits of fish around the sides”.
A lady stood at the bar looked at the plate and said what any normal person would think “that doesn’t look good at all. No fish on that”.
The bar girl with glasses stated that she couldn't do anything about it! Honestly, the service received by her was awful. It was made to feel as if it was the customers fault the fish wasn’t to expectation. She finally got her manager, big built tall man with a beard and balding hair, but he only refunded for the meal and not the coffee as a good will gesture for the appalling state of the meal presented. Even the girl who served the meal that day, called Gaynor (if her real name lol) lovely girl, said there had been previous complaint of the fish!!! Reported all This to another manager, dark hair male with beard, and he was apologetic. He said he would take note but I doubt anything was said.
Will never go back to this JD again. It’s a shame the one on the Quay is due to shut as that is much better down there!! Maybe they can swap the bar staff. This female is allegedly a “team leader”. Would be nice if she took some customer service classes.
Would not recommend the food or service here. Best go to the quay, better all round there...
Read moreOrdered 3 different curry meals 2 tikka 2 korma 1 madras, the madras wasn't available so chose something else, but when the food arrived they brought 4 tikka's and the alternative, I stated that 2 should of been korma, so the waiter took 2 Tikka away plus the alternative, a waitress came to our table and said we didn't order korma that we ordered 4 tikka and the madras wasn't available so was offered the alternative, she stated she red the order back which she did as the curry came with either rice or chips which we chose 1 of each. The alternative was not brought back and the korma wasn't available on the order till according to the waitress, who left as if to say like it or lump it. Then the manager came over asking what the issue was, so I went over the order again. Ultimately nothing was changed even though he said they found some korma in the back of the freezer. Originally I started the order on the app but couldn't find korma so ended up going to the till, maybe next time stick with the app atleast I'd have proof of the order, although everyone ate everything its just embarrassing being told by the staff you ordered wrong instead of maybe the restaurant wasn't listening to my order, at no time did the 3 people with me hear that korma was off the menu only that the madras was. Other than that it was everything you would expect from a...
Read moreWetherspoons #120 visited.
A large branch in the centre of Poole, just off the High St and not too far from the Train Station.
Ordered a 12" Southern Fried Chicken Wrap, Chips and a pint of Weston's Rose's Pig Tropical Cider, which was currently on as part of the south western region 'Craft Cider Festival'. Total cost was £9.82.
Ordered at the bar on this occasion, as I wanted to establish the festival ciders were included with the 'with a drink deal'.
Was served at the bar also immediately. So no issues with bar service, or wait times.
Food arrived within the ten minutes food service time that Wetherspoons aims for.
No complaints with food when it arrived.
There is a price difference between the 10" and 12" wraps, for which there isn't a huge amount of difference in size. For the filling I had - Smokey Southern Fried - The 12" has three chicken goujons, rather than two in the 10". The 12" looks bulkier and is cut in two. The chip portion isn't much bigger for the increased price either. The 10" wrap with chips and pint would have been £7.81 Vs £.9.82 I paid for the larger wrap.
Although looking at the menu in general, the food prices were a little higher than what I'm used to paying at my local in 'the shires'.
Recommend a visit to this branch if in the area and don't want to break the bank on...
