We arrived at 10.40, knowing that breakfast finished serving at 11.30. I was with my two sons, 14 and 10, so had to pay adult price for the 14yr old. Juices not included, I purchased these for £2.55 per glass. Asked if I would like ice, I said yes as I could see the cartons were not in the fridge. She poured the orange juice and on the last glass it went to about two inches to the top (ice was already in). I expected her to open a new carton to top up, but she just added more ice. Got our breakfast (food was fine by the way - basic but fine - confused as to why I would have to pay more to have mushrooms though?) But couldn't see the cups for the filter coffee (not a fancy machine, just an urn of coffee). I was informed I had to pay separate for this, £1.99 for unlimited cups. We had our breakfast (kids are quite fussy so only enjoyed the eggs and toast, one enjoyed the waffle but the only option for topping was maple syrup, he would have preferred Nutella!). At 11.15 a waitress approached And said if we wanted kore we had to go now because they were clearing it away for the carvery (I would have expected this to happen at 11.30 since its advertised available up to this time). I was then asked if I wanted to top my coffee up as this too was being taken away - I hadn't even managed to drink the first so couldn't (you can't get a second cup or plate - you reuse your plates and cups given, so we couldn't really get more and eat it slowly, we'd have had to finish what we had first!)
The food was a better standard than I'd expected, but choice was a bit limited (I suppose im comparing it to premier inn breakfasts which are fab, so maybe I need to lower my expectations) but it cost me £25 for one adult and two children with drinks, given the children only really had egg on toast it's quite pricey don't think we...
Read moreJust had 2 burgers delivered, obviously the chefs were in a rush to knock off. Oh dear, the chicken was dry, solid as a rock and no sauce, it was supposed to be drizzled in natcho sauce! Almost like its been cooked....left then cooked again..and again. The chips are poor. Dry tasteless. Ordered a cesar salad, everything is cut up nicely to be fair but didn't have any form of dressing so isn't what I ordered. When confronted, the lady on the phone said "well, I'm sorry but it was a late order, our chef's have gone home now, they had to turn the kitchen back on" Sorry but none of this is our problem when we're paying customers! If you can't fulfill an order, don't take one. With the cost of living currently, a take away for us is a treat. We're left with no dinner tonight. She said to take it up with uber eats. Sorry but they delivered and did their jobs well! The food came from your kitchen and your poor chefs that clearly show no passion or professionalism for their jobs. You absolutely deserve this 1 star review, it'll be sent to social media so hopefully others don't make a "late order". Just for reference, the description of the meal depicted is as follows. THE DIRTY CLUCKER A tender chicken breast and a crispy fried buttermilk chicken breast topped with a hash brown and then drenched in Nacho cheese sauce and chicken gravy. Topped with onion rings and served with chips. Just yummy. Just...
Read moreVisited Mermaid at Marske with our 2Grandchildren this week...on entering got the impression the Pub was closed...there were no lights on and had to wait at the door to be seated...there was only i more party in the dinning area and a few people in the bar. Out of the many tables to choose from the only choice was the ones nearest the window...the others were in complete darkness due to no lighting switched on......sat in the top window near the Pizza bar. I went to the till with our order...put my hands on the ‘drip’ mat and it felt like treacle...and didn’t smell very good, the young lady serving me was pleasant enough bit as pulling the drinks with her right hand seemed to be looking at a mobile in her left hand ! I went to the ladies to wash my Sticky hands and waited to be served at the carvery...chose my meal but didn’t appreciate being called “darling” and “lovely” ( I am an older person but regard myself as quite alert) The food was not very nice..meat ( turkey and gammon) was very dry the Yorkshire pud like cardboard roasties burnt and sour tasting ...poor choice of veg ... not enjoyable at all. The other members of my party were also not overwhelmed with their choices. So all in all sadly... I don’t think we will be...
