What can I say... Came in to The Nags Head just on a whim for a quick pint before food. And found that the staff are so caring and friendly to talk to. They made us feel like we have been here before. Big shout out to Alice and Thomasin!!!!! For making us feel welcome!!! Such a lovely time we have had.. and can't wait to come back down again! If anyone is thinking of coming to The Nags Head, you will feel welcomed and at home with the friendly staff. Can't see how it's 4.5 on Google... GOOGLE REVIEW YOUR SCORE AMD MAKE IT 5.0!!!!!

Really good old ale house on a hill in central Shrewsbury. A choice of a few ales, one I was on was lovely. Large outside area which has a very old structure overlooking it. I didn’t enquire what it was all about but I was impressed nevertheless. Supposedly haunted as it has cursed painting hidden away in the top floor with a sinister history. A quick online search will reveal said painting. Recommended pub! 🍻 👻

Lovely pub. Last time we were here there were riot police outside as Cardiff fans were apparently in town! Albrecht found it nice and quiet today. Five real ales on handpump. A CAMRA Good Beer Guide pub. Had a great pint of Ossett Butterly. A two room pub, front to back. Surprisingly large rear beer garden with an interesting festure. Cask Marque pub.

We visited this pub Saturday very busy, lovely atmosphere and the lads behind the bar very friendly. We liked it so much the following day friends travelled from Chester and we suggested here, as we had noted dog friendly and the beer garden fab. (They have a 6 month old spaniel.) A warm night we sat in the garden lovely ambiance. On leaving 2hrs later we had to go thought the bar to leave, as we were leaving the dog left a little puddle on the floor (much to the horror of the couple who’s dog it was) They immediately went to the bar for blue towel, to apologise and mop it up. The girl behind the bar was so rude for a dog friendly pub we were amazed, she shouted to the rest of the pub “does anyone else want to piss or shit on the floor” and asked us to leave which we were anyway. To show my friend up (and herself) who is a lovely polite young man I was horrified. The pub itself deserves the 5 star but we were bitterly...

Re-visited a few years ago during the closing down of Copthorne Barracks at which I did my musical training way back in the 60's ! Back in time it really was a pub worth a visit if you were under age because it was out of the way and the M&B mild was way ahead of Brown Ale sold in my home land of Cornwall. My re-visit was with my life long army mate and we both had a brief chat with the owner who is the son of the owner back in the 60's. It has changed (of course) the bar inside has been moved and a garden! However it is now a pub to take the wife in, with staff that do smile and serve you promptly. Busy on a Saturday night but the hill seems steeper in my old age when you leave. Shame the M&B mild pump has long gone but I intend to make time for a 2nd return visit in August 2018. Search the Nags Head out - its really...
