We had the absolute pleasure of hosting our wedding reception at The Natural Grocer in Hexham, and it was nothing short of perfect. From start to finish, Gordon and Joanne went above and beyond to make our day truly unforgettable. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail made us feel completely at ease, and nothing was ever too much trouble.

The food was simply outstanding, fresh, beautifully presented, and enjoyed by every single one of our guests. We had so many compliments on the menu, and it was clear how much care and passion had gone into every dish.

The staff were incredible too: attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the whole evening, helping everything run seamlessly.

The Natural Grocer really put the icing on the cake for our wedding day. We couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful venue or team, and we’ll be forever grateful to Gordon, Joanne, and everyone involved for making it so special.

What a little find!

We didn’t really know what to expect but this was one of the best experiences we’ve had in a long time. Everything about this restaurant is different.

The ambience gives it a very laidback feel. The menu is unusual, the food is very tasty (especially given the limited size of the kitchen) and the drinks offer is definitely a cut above. It’s a long time since we’ve come across Vermouth, especially such a wide selection, and it’s rare to have brandy served so perfectly. The service was exceptional as was the owners’ in-depth knowledge of the products on offer. As if all this wasn’t enough, there is also a shop – that’s the Christmas list sorted!

The offer is perfect for us and for anyone wishing to while away a couple of hours in a relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely be back, possibly for an alternative...

We had the pleasure of celebrating my brother-in-law’s birthday at Market Social, and it was truly a memorable meal. The atmosphere was perfect for a special occasion—festive yet relaxed, creating a great vibe for our celebration.

My father-in-law, who’s in his 90s and has experienced many great meals over the years, remarked that it was some of the best food he’d ever had. He was especially fond of the whitebait and the seafood platter, both of which were absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared.

The staff were exceptional—warm, friendly, and attentive throughout the evening. They were also knowledgeable about the menu, which made our dining experience even more enjoyable.
