Saathi — Restaurant in England

We looked at all the reviews and thought we'd try this place out whilst working in the area and what a good choice that turned out to be !

We had a warm and friendly greeting when we arrived and took through the arch to a lovely bright and welcoming restaurant

The menus look and feel like quality and a very good selection of food to match. We both went through the chef specials and both went for the spicy curry with orange peel in it. Wow what a good choice as it tasted amazing and unlike any curry I've had before

We also had some Bombay potatoes, mushroom rice and a garlic keema naan, all of which were delicious and tasty.

The owner came and spoke to us and he was lovely, we both told him how much we enjoyed it and we will definitely return next time we are working...

10 out of 10 for this Restaurant ! A friendly welcome on arrival, which was a great start to an excellent evening ! The Staff were very friendly & helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was Excellent - BEST Onion Bhaji we have ever had - delicious & cooked to perfection ! The main courses did not disappoint our hungry foursome, but we were defeated & couldn't manage to eat everything..... it was a very nice gesture when the Waiter offered to box the remaining food up for us to take home if we wished. We declined, but I don't think that has ever happened in an Indian Restaurant before ! Since moving to Hexham we've ordered from here many times, only because there are very few options for Indian food here. We moved from an area where we were spoiled for choice for Indian food, so our expectations are high. Every single time we haven't been entirely satisfied. Sometimes it's just alright and others it's inedible. I can't understand the good reviews for this place... Maybe they have nothing else to compare it to and it's what they're used to. On one occasion, I'd ordered Dahl and it was so bad (bland, tasteless, extremely runny) that I couldn't eat it and ended up making my own Dahl that night. We haven't ordered from here since Cilantro opened, the food...
