Since September last year we've been to this place 3 times for breakfast. Our first visit was the best. We were made to feel welcome and the food portions/taste were really good. The service/food wasn't as great the second time but it was quite busy so we just thought that was the main reason. Unfortunately, yesterday's visit was awful. After ordering scrambled egg on toast and a small breakfast we were told there were no sausages, mushrooms or beans, so we asked for a refund as this was half of the breakfast items. After a few minutes we were told they would be able to do the breakfast after all, minus the mushrooms. The people at the table behind us ordered after us. When their food was brought out we could clearly see that they had ordered the same small breakfast but theirs included mushrooms! It felt a bit insulting, as if we were not good enough but surely a paying customer is the same regardless? Needless to say, we won't...

Stopped at The Old Barracks today after walking the dog at Appley beach. After quite a walk we were really hungry and had heard good things about this really nice dining establishment. The menu wasn't extensive but there were fresh crab specials on a board that we didn't see until walking back to the car. We both decided to have the burger with chips, I had the Bacon and cheese with BBQ sauce and my wife had the Blue cheese and Chutney jam. All the listed burgers were £8.50 and I have to say that it was one of the best burgers I have ever had, it was probably down to the burgers being home made from proper steak mince. I would Definitely recommend eating here to everyone it was absolutely amazing and what made it even better was the weather. Five Stars...

This was the first time we’d visited the old barracks and I have to say first class all round service. Staff were young but very mature in their attitudes, pleasant, polite and attentive. When I first looked at the menu I thought the prices seemed a little on the high side but when the food arrived the quality was superb and plenty of it, our grandchildren absolutely loved to play area. I really can’t say enough good things about this place, we will definitely be revisiting when we are on our next holiday to the Isle of Wight in August We’ll done everyone involved Mark and family...

It's a lovely place, for children to play, nearby food and tea and coffee and very peaceful. Except! It's next to the former Harcourt Sands holiday centre, where the developer is busily burning all manner of probably toxic stuff producing acrid smoke on open bonfires during the day. So if you've asthma, or children, don't go! It's impossible to enjoy anything with smoke blowing all over the childrens play area. We and a fair few others had to leave or face choking fumes and smoke.

Lovely spot for a spot of breakfast or brunch, choice to sit out the front or out the back if you want it to be more private, lovely food all cooked fresh with a little bit of entertainment for the kids too whilst you wait/eat. Would definitely recommend if there is a group of you as there is lots of space.

We came here on two occasions for the open free cinema experience and loved it both times. Also been once previous in last summer for a lovely lunch and amazing milkshake. Lovely to go to a place that is still going strong that I remember spending a lot of time at in my childhood.
