I waited an hour and ten minutes for fries. I ordered two sides, the sweet potato fries and the butter beans and yoghurt and one glass of wine. We were sat in a table at the very back so I'm not sure if we were just forgotten about but it took 45 minutes for my butter bean side to arrive which literally was just butter beans on yogurt, I might be being naive but I couldn't figure out how it took 45 minutes, I waited 10 more before asking where my fries were and I was told they would just be another minute, the fries arrived 15 minutes later, so 25 minutes after the beans and an hour and 10 minutes after I ordered them. It was really difficult to get a staff members attention even just to order another glass of wine whilst we waited. My friend asked if she ordered fries now, how long would it take, the server checked with the kitchen, came back and said 6 minutes, she ordered fries and they arrived 25 minutes later. If they had just said how long it would take it wouldn't have been a problem we just wouldn't have ordered but why offer something you can't do? Because her fries took so long she asked for a takeaway box but they had nothing apart from a takeaway cup. When we spoke to the staff at the end they said they just had a small kitchen and tried to tell people the food would just come out when it's ready, whilst I appreciate that, an hour and ten minutes for two sides isn't worth it. I was expecting some form of compensation but instead the lady doing our bill said she would take the service charge off? I hate to say it but we wouldn't have paid that anyway we could barely get the attention of a server just to order a glass of wine let alone find out where our food was.
Over all I was left feeling disappointed and a bit upset that the staff couldn't even acknowledge that the waiting time was simply to long. In the end I paid ÂŁ33 for two glasses of wine, one of which was in the happy hour and two small sides which took an hour to come. I've been to the orgia in the past and had a really nice time, especially on their Camembert Tuesdays but this was over all just a really disappointing...
Read moreNot Disability-Friendly I don’t normally leave reviews but felt obligated to in this instance! Overall it was just a weird, uncomfortable experience and honestly our waitress gave salty, mean girl vibes. The service wasn’t very fast and we waited an hour between ordering and receiving our food. Not great, but I typically wouldn’t care too much. What really bothered me was the staff’s attitude towards my family - which includes multiple family members with hearing loss and hearing aids! It just sucks to be made to feel like a difficult customer because of a disability that is out of your control. For instance, I asked our waitress if they would turn the volume of the music down a little bit so that our table could communicate more easily with each other. The music was turned down for about 5 minutes… I guess I could’ve asked if they would turn it down again but I don’t think I should have to. Plus after that our waitress just seemed generally unfriendly and unapproachable. I could write more but I can’t be bothered to spend any more of my time on this lol. Basically:
Can’t hear? Don’t go here! :)
In response to the owner’s response:
I did tell the waitress that my family members have hearing aids when I asked them to turn the music down. It’s not defamatory,...
Read moreCosy, warm, welcoming, but most importantly, fun! A great little spot for a drink and a little snack right in the midst of falmouth’s charming streets. With a wide selection of drinks, a happy hour that offers a bit more variety than your standard, and mocktails that go beyond just apply juice and lemonade - Infact the strawberry Basil mocktail was actually the nicest drink we had, as well as a lovely rosé spritz. The atmosphere is spot on, with service being excellent, with a smile and the right amount of attentiveness too. Could’ve sat in there much longer, and if we go back to Falmouth, we will certainly be back! There seemed to be a large selection of wines too if that’s your thing. Very impressed, give it a go! Note - We only had the bread as a nibble, which...
