Called in for Breakfast, struggled to find a table and once we got one the long queue at the bar to order food was ridiculous, 2 bar staff doing their best but this pub gets busy with morning drinkers so took around 10 minutes to get served. We enquired about our food after a 30 minute wait to be told it would be another 10 minutes yet, we only asked because last time we waited ages and on complaining at the bar we were told we had already been given our food?!! They had mixed up the table numbers and given our meals to someone else!! When the breakfast finally arrived they really weren't worth the wait, the cold toast was tiny, I have had many Wetherspoons breakfasts before so know its the same standard everywhere in the UK but this was poor even by Wetherspoons standards, the hash browns were crumbling and looked like they had been thrown around, the egg was stone cold and the half tomato was burnt and black! The atmosphere wasn't great with kids running around the tables and a lot of down and out types who were drinking heavily around us at 11am In future I will give this place a miss for food, it's a shame as I used to love it here and I will still call in for drinks on a night out but at breakfast time theres much better places...
Read moreWe came in Sunday the 16th. As we had had the same menu at a Brewers Fayre in another area only three weeks ago was excellent as we had had it twice whilst staying there, I knew or assumed that the steak and two eggs would be delicious. WRONG. The rump, steak well it was so hard to not only cut with a steak knife to mainly tough to eat, that I ended up leaving most of it. The eggs were ok. The chips looked as if they had been fried before and were not nice. My husband had a cup ofmtea and the large milk jug was brought. We had to ask for a saucer to put the tea bag on. There were several of us eating on oir table and we had to ask for the table to be cleared so we could have our desserts. Those were excellent. How can the menu that is the exact same, and in theory be cooked the same end up so different. Brewers Fayre Hanley ever single meal for three days breakfast and dinner, was excellent. Even a lunch meal was excellent. We had actually brought up ratlives from Lamcashire and also one who regularly eats at THE SWAN at Bucklow Hill. So it did jot give a good imoression. The bar staff were stood there, whilst our plates were waiting to be cleared so my daughter went to ask them to...
Read moreNipped in here for a quick lunch while out with my mum and sister. The inside sort of gave me unfinished vibes. As if it was getting decorated but not finished.
We struggled to find a table that was clear of empty plates and drinks. It was not busy in there at all either and the plenty of staff looking busy but couldn’t actually work out what they were doing. Just aimlessly walking around. The picture of this box full of dishes was there before we came and right up until the end of us leaving.
We ordered via the app. and they took near to 20 minutes just to bring out 3 soft drinks. Food was decent and warm so can’t fault that and the lady who brought it over was friendly.
Another lady spotted the box full of dishes just as we were getting up to leave and did seem quite annoyed by that and began to clear it up but she was blocking my exit of me trying to leave. I tried to scoot round her but she was just more focused on clearing away our plates and the others around than to let me past. Not the end of the world but i thought it would’ve been ideal for the pair of us to let me past then she would have more space for herself to finish...
