Our visit to The Plough Inn this Summer was nothing short of wonderful. This charming establishment in the heart of the village is the epitome of a classic English country pub, offering a warm welcome to both locals and visitors alike.
The Plough Inn is particularly dog-friendly, making it a perfect spot for us as pet owners, a chance to relax with our furry family member. The landlord is notably hospitable, ensuring every guest feels like part of the community. His dedication is reflected in the well-curated selection of real ales and ciders, which are a treat for any enthusiast.
The beer garden at The Plough Inn provides a serene setting to enjoy these beverages, especially during the warmer months. As for the food, the meals are hearty and satisfying, with the steak and pie standing out for their flavor and quality. These dishes perfectly complement the rustic, village atmosphere of the pub.
Overall, The Plough Inn is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to enjoy traditional pub fare, excellent drinks, and a friendly environment. It truly captures the spirit of Congresbury and the surrounding...
Read moreMy family and I arrived at The Plough Inn for a drink after a meal elsewhere in the local community as the extremely popular pub was fully booked!
When I entered the enchanting foyer/drinking area I was instantly hit with warmness, welcomeness and friendliness of the landlord and other staff.
I was utterly flabbergasted by the wide variety of ales dark and pale that the pub was in possession of. There's something for everyone.
The dog was very well mannered and well trained; not annoying people who were eating and was only down for a short amount of time before he was politely escorted upstairs into the landlords living quarters. Nothing to complain about.
This is was the best pub experience I have ever had and it is no surprise it has multiple pub of the year awards.
I would highly recommend this to anyone up and down the country as the food also looked heavenly. I caught a glimpse of somebody's ham, egg and chips and all I thought was one word. Exquisite.
Possibly the greatest pub in the south west or...

Parking 🅿️ was tricky small car park and busy, not helped by the Pub Large bins being badly positioned in the area and occupying a parking bay.
Ordered a Diet Coke that turned out was flat , served in a dirty rimmed glass in a old badly stained Coca Cola branded glass, and only 3/4 ‘s full, for no reason given ??!!!
Sat out in the Beer Garden area, that was nice & large in size, shame the picnic tables had not been maintained properly and were chipped and splittered in places and could have done with a good jet washing to tidy them up a bit??
Lots of seemingly unnecessary chalk boards telling you what to do or not to do!!!
More effective would have been paying more attention to the Beer Garden picnic tables?
Looked at the menu, but in light of the Diet Coke issues, decided to...
